Survivor comenzó una racha de seis semanas en el n.º 1 de la lista de sencillos de EE. UU. con “Eye Of The Tiger”, extraída de la película Rocky III . La canción fue escrita por el guitarrista de Survivor, Frankie Sullivan, y el tecladista Jim Peterik, y fue grabada a pedido de Sylvester Stallone, después de que Queen le negara el permiso para usar “Another One Bites the Dust”. Dato curioso: “Eye of the Tiger” se hizo originalmente para la película The Karate Kid , ya que el director de Rocky y The Karate Kid, John G. Avildsen, planeó usar la canción para un montaje de lucha hacia el final de la película. Avildsen optó por usar “You’re the Best” de Joe Esposito para el montaje. ¡Qué viaje!

Survivor started a six-week run at No. 1 on the U.S. singles chart with “Eye Of The Tiger,” taken from the film Rocky III. The song was written by Survivor guitarist Frankie Sullivan and keyboardist Jim Peterik, and was recorded at the request of Sylvester Stallone, after Queen denied him permission to use “Another One Bites the Dust”. Fun fact: “Eye of the Tiger” was originally made for the movie The Karate Kid, as the director of both Rocky and The Karate Kid, John G. Avildsen, planned to use the song for a fighting montage towards the end of the feature. Avildsen opted to use “You’re the Best” by Joe Esposito for the montage instead. What a journey!
