Michael McDonald

Es un cantante estadounidense de R&B y soul. McDonald tocó en múltiples bandas (como Mike and the Majestics, Jerry Jay and the Sheratons, the Reebtoors y The Guild) en su pueblo natal Ferguson, Misuri, un suburbio de St. Louis. Fue descubierto cuando hacía parte de un grupo llamado Blue y en consecuencia se mudó a Los Ángeles en 1970. Inicialmente fue conocido como miembro ocasional de Steely Dan, poniendo la voz en Katy Lied y en subsiguientes álbumes como The Royal Scam y Aja.

Is an American R&B and soul singer. McDonald played in multiple bands (including Mike and the Majestics, Jerry Jay and the Sheratons, the Reebtoors, and The Guild) in his hometown of Ferguson, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. He was discovered when he was part of a group called Blue and consequently moved to Los Angeles in 1970. He was initially known as an occasional member of Steely Dan, voicing Katy Lied and subsequent albums such as The Royal Scam and Aja.

McDonald joined The Doobie Brothers in April 1975 when their lead vocal Tom Johnston fell ill during a national tour. As a member of the Doobies, he recorded songs like “Takin ‘It To The Streets,” “Little Darling,” “It Keeps You Runnin'” (used in the movie Forrest Gump), “Minute by Minute” and “What a Fool Believes. “(which reached number one in the United States and for which it won a Grammy award in 1980 in the song of the year category).
