Es conocida por el mundo de las telenovelas. Es hija de la primera actriz Jacqueline Andere y el director de cine José María Fernández Unsáin, hermana de José María Fernández “Pirru” y cuñada de la cantante Ana Bárbara; y también es cuñada de la fallecida actriz Mariana Levy.
Estuvo casada en primeras nupcias con Roberto Gómez Fernández, el hijo de Roberto Gómez Bolaños “Chespirito” con quien no tuvo descendencia y de quien se divorció, vuelta a casar desde el 6 de diciembre de 2008 con el anticuario Enrique Rivero Lake con quien procreó a su primera hija, llamada Natalia y quien nació el 7 de marzo de 2009.
Debutó como actriz con apenas 16 años en la telenovela juvenil Dulce desafío, encarnando a la rival de la protagonista, interpretada por Adela Noriega.
En 1990 graba Un rostro en mi pasado y al año siguiente es co-protagonista en la telenovela de Juan Osorio Madres egoístas.
En 1990, Chantal inicia su carrera como cantante con el álbum Regresa, de donde se desprenden canciones como “Regresa”, “Tu piel”, “Una de dos”, “Virginia” y “Músculo”, entre otras, siendo Regresa, Músculo y Virginia las más destacadas de su álbum debut.
En 1992, lanza su segundo disco titulado Chantal de donde logra el éxito con temas como “Contigo el amor es mucho más”, “Hey mami”, “Déjame ser (para ti)” y “Entre tú y yo”, el cual es seleccionado por el productor Ernesto Alonso como tema de entrada de la telenovela Triángulo, logrando la popularidad de este sencillo en las listas a finales de 1992.

She was married for the first time to Roberto Gómez Fernández, the son of Roberto Gómez Bolaños “Chespirito” with whom she had no offspring and from whom she divorced, remarried on December 6, 2008 with the antique dealer Enrique Rivero Lake with whom she procreated his first daughter, named Natalia and who was born on March 7, 2009.
