Manuel José Galván, artistically known as Manolo Galván, was a Spanish singer-songwriter of romantic ballads. born in Crevillente (Crevillent), Province of Alicante; March 13, 1946. His father, Guillermo Galván and his mother, Olvido. At the age of 15, he began to sing against the will of his family. He abandoned his studies and moved to Madrid, where he joined a group called Sonors. Later he abandoned it to start a solo career, but when he was unable to do so, he moved to Malaga to form part of Los Gritos, with whom he was for three years. His hits from this time are “Life is the same”, “Sitting at the station”, “Goodbye summer, goodbye love”, “Lament” (or “The lament of your voice”). In 1969 he participates in the film “Made in Spain” together with Paco Martínez Soria, in which they perform the song “Veo visiones”. In 1970 the group disappeared when it became La Zarzamora.
In 1970 he managed to start his solo career. The vast majority of the lyrics of his songs, many of them with great solo success, were written by one of his older brothers, Juan Ignacio Galván. In 1972 he toured Latin America, having a great impact in Argentina with his song “Why do I love you so much?” In 1973 he settled in Buenos Aires, settling definitively in Argentina in 1981. He made several appearances with the Argentine singer Tormenta, recording a couple of singles as a duet with her.

He died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the age of 67 due to pulmonary emphysema, in a sanatorium in the aforementioned town of Bella Vista, on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.5 According to his will, his ashes were scattered in the sea.
