Es un cantautor estadounidense más conocido por las canciones “Chariot”, y  “Follow Through”.

En 2003 el productor musical Clive Davis lo descubrió en las salas de fiestas de Manhattan. Firmó contrato con J Records y publicó su álbum, Chariot. Fue certificado con el Disco de Platino en los Estados Unidos. Tuvo éxito con sus dos álbumes siguientes, Gavin Degraw (2008) y Free (2009). Gavin DeGraw es el copropietario del bar The National Underground con su hermano el cantautor Joey.

Originalmente, DeGraw se inició en Manhattan en los clubes locales de West junto a los pianistas Andrés y Lenny Revell, atrayendo a varios de sus seguidores a la ciudad. Tuvo su gran oportunidad cuando “I Don’t Want to Be” fue elegido como el tema para la serie juvenil One Tree Hill. Su canción “We Belong Together” fue incluida también en la película de 2006 Tristán e Isolda.

En 2004, DeGraw lanzado una versión acústica de su álbum Chariot llamado Chariot Stripped. DeGraw y su banda grabó el álbum en vivo en el estudio, en una sola toma en la voz, buscando un efecto íntimo.

Biography

He is an American singer-songwriter best known for the songs “Chariot”, and “Follow Through”.

In 2003 music producer Clive Davis discovered him in Manhattan nightclubs. He signed with J Records and released his album, Chariot. It was certified Platinum in the United States. He had success with his next two albums, Gavin Degraw (2008) and Free (2009). Gavin DeGraw is the co-owner of The National Underground bar with his brother, singer-songwriter Joey.

DeGraw originally got his start in Manhattan at local West clubs alongside pianists Andrew and Lenny Revell, attracting several of his fans to the city. He got his big break when “I Don’t Want to Be” was chosen as the theme song for the teen series One Tree Hill. His song “We Belong Together” was also included in the 2006 film Tristan and Iseult.

In 2004, DeGraw released an acoustic version on his Chariot album called Chariot Stripped. DeGraw and his band recorded the album live in the studio, in one take on vocals, for an intimate effect.
