Biografía
Fue un músico británico, conocido por ser el bajista de The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Nació en Folkestone, Inglaterra. Fue elegido por Chas Chandler para unirse a la banda de Jimi Hendrix en 1966, que abandonó en 1969. Aunque actuó en otras bandas antes y después de la muerte de Hendrix, nunca alcanzó un nivel similar de éxito, y decidió radicarse en Irlanda, en 1972.

Biography
He was a British musician, known for being the bassist for The Jimi Hendrix Experience. He was born in Folkestone, England. He was chosen by Chas Chandler to join Jimi Hendrix’s band in 1966, which he left in 1969. Although he performed in other bands before and after Hendrix’s death, he never achieved a similar level of success, and decided to settle in Ireland, in 1972.
At the age of 9, Noel played the violin at school, then the mandolin at 12 and the guitar at 14. His first public appearances were at the Hythe Youth Club and at the Harvey Grammar School, where he studied.
At the age of 17, he decided to pursue music professionally and toured Scotland and Germany, where he played in various clubs with Neil Landon and the Burnettes and his band The Loving Kind.
Noel was the first person to join the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and it was by accident. Chas Chandler invited him to audition and he thought he would audition for the band The Animals. When he got there they told him he would do it for a “fantastic” American guitarist, so he did and became Jimi Hendrix’s bassist.
In 1969 he left the Hendrix project to form Fat Mattress with Neil Landon on vocals, Jim Leverton on bass and Eric Dillon on drums. Later this band would be joined for a short time by guitarist Martin Barre before joining Jethro Tull.
