GINGER ROGERS, fue una actriz, bailarina y cantante estadounidense y ganadora de un Óscar. En sus 62 años de carrera, hizo un total de 73 películas pero sus papeles más recordados son los que hizo junto a Fred Astaire en una serie de diez películas musicales que revolucionaron el concepto del musical moderno.

Sus primeras apariciones en el cine fueron en 1929, en un grupo de cortometrajes que llevaban por título Night in the Dormitory, A Day of a Man of Affairs y Campus Sweethearts.

Poco después, Rogers fue elegida para protagonizar en Broadway el musical Girl Crazy de George Gershwin e Ira Gershwin. Allí también estaba Fred Astaire, que fue contratado para ayudar a los bailarines con su coreografía. Así fue como Astaire conoció a Rogers, en lo que sería el principio de una historia irrepetible. El éxito de Girl Crazy fue inapelable y en 1930, con 19 años, Rogers firmaría con la Paramount Pictures un contrato por siete años.

GINGER ROGERS, was an American actress, dancer and singer and winner of an Oscar. In his 62-year career, he made a total of 73 films, but his most memorable roles are those he played alongside Fred Astaire in a series of ten musical films that revolutionized the concept of the modern musical.

His first film appearances were in 1929, in a group of short films entitled Night in the Dormitory, A Day of a Man of Affairs and Campus Sweethearts.

Soon after, Rogers was cast in the Broadway musical Girl Crazy by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin. There was also Fred Astaire, who was hired to help the dancers with their choreography. This is how Astaire met Rogers, in what would be the beginning of an unrepeatable story. The success of Girl Crazy was unquestionable and in 1930, at the age of 19, Rogers signed a seven-year contract with Paramount Pictures.

Eternally related to the figure of Astaire, he presented the Oscars in 1950 and 1967. In 1992, Rogers received an honorary Oscar for his career.

For his contribution to the world of cinema, Rogers has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6772 Hollywood Boulevard.
