What to Watch This Weekend: ‘Late Night with the Devil,’ ‘Abigail,’ ‘Fallout,’ & More

Friday is here, and if you’re looking for a binge-worthy show or movie to watch this weekend, this list might help! April has been an excellent month for horror, so let’s see what’s new.

Shows to Watch This Weekend

American Horror Story: Delicate
(Hulu)

FX

American Horror Story is in its twelfth season, which, like past seasons, boasts a large cast and complex plot. Delicate is based on Danielle Valentine’s book Delicate Condition, which explores themes of fame, pregnancy, and satanic cults. It’s evocative of Roman Polanski’s iconic 1968 film Rosemary’s Baby, starring Mia Farrow.

Emma Roberts returns to AHS as Anna Victoria Alcott. She is a rising actress who is devastated when she’s unable to conceive. Anna quickly suspects that something dark and unnatural is keeping her from having a baby. But when she discovers she’s pregnant, Anna realizes that achieving everything she wants might have unintended effects.

Delicate also stars Kim Kardashian, Denis O’Hare, Dominic Burgess, Zachary Quinto, Billie Lourd, Grace Gummer, Cara Delevingne, Leslie Grossman, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Julie White, Juliana Canfield, and Maaz Ali.

The most recent episode, “Little Gold Man,” aired on April 17th, highlighting the Rosemary’s Baby parallel. Episodes are available on Hulu the day after they air on FX. The season finale, “The Auteur,” will air on Wednesday of next week.

Chucky Season 3
(Peacock)

CHUCKY Season 3 Part 2 Episode 6
SYFY

The Chucky TV series is in part two of its third season and has gone somewhere no one predicted! The killer doll (voiced by Brad Dourif) has infiltrated the White House and formed a bond with the president’s (Devon Sawa) young son, Henry (Callum Vinson). When Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) see the kid holding Chucky on national television, they decide to take him down once and for all.

The show features familiar faces from the films, including Alex Vincent, Jennifer Tilly, and Fiona Dourif. Don Mancini, the franchise’s creator, acts as executive producer, writer, and director.

SYFY and USA Network aired the sixth episode, “Panic Room,” on Wednesday, April 17th. New episodes are on Peacock one week after they air. All previously released episodes can now be streamed.

Fallout Season 1
(Prime Video)

Fallout Series - The Ghoul
Prime Video

Based on Bethesda Softworks’ Fallout games, the show is set in the year 2296 in California and follows a vault dweller named Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell). After a tragic incident in her home vault, Lucy travels to the surface in search of her father (Kyle MacLachlan), discovering what life in the Wasteland is really like.

Fans will appreciate the attention to detail that went into each locale and costume, including vaults, power armor, and Pip-Boys. The show also significantly expands the Fallout universe lore and captures everything we love about the games.

X-Men ’97

X-Men 97 on Disney+
Disney+

The 1990s produced some of the best animated television shows of any decade. One such cartoon is X-Men: The Animated Series, which aired from 1992 until 1997. It had an iconic title sequence and music, in-depth plots, skilled voice actors portraying our favorite Marvel characters, and bright animation. Much to the delight of fans, Disney+ debuted a revival series last month that is worthy of the original.

Many of the original voice actors returned for the show, including Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, George Buza as Beast, Lenore Zann as Rogue, Chris Britton as Mr. Sinister, Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler, Alyson Court as Abscissa, Chris Potter as Cable, Catherine Disher as Val Cooper, and Lawrence Bayne as Carl Denti.

Six episodes are now available on Disney+, the most recent, “Lifedeath – Part 2,” premiering on Wednesday, April 17th. The story is just as impactful, with the fifth episode, “Remember It,” hitting hard for many.

New episodes will be released every Wednesday until the season one finale on May 15th. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!
