Bob Geldof escribi\u00f3 la canci\u00f3n despu\u00e9s de leer un informe sobre el tiroteo de Brenda Ann Spencer, de 16 a\u00f1os, que dispar\u00f3 contra ni\u00f1os que jugaban en el patio de una escuela al otro lado de la calle de su casa en San Diego, California. Mat\u00f3 a dos adultos e hiri\u00f3 a ocho ni\u00f1os y a un oficial de polic\u00eda. Spencer no mostr\u00f3 remordimiento por su crimen, y su explicaci\u00f3n completa de sus acciones fue “No me gustan los lunes, esto anima el d\u00eda”.

Bob Geldof wrote the song after reading a report on the shooting spree of 16-year-old Brenda Ann Spencer, who fired at children playing in a school playground across the street from her home in San Diego, California. She killed two adults and injured eight children and one police officer. Spencer showed no remorse for her crime, and her full explanation for her actions was “I don’t like Mondays, this livens up the day.”<\/p>\n
