Realiz\u00f3 estudios sacerdotales, los cuales termin\u00f3 el 19 de diciembre de 1942, cuando fue ordenado. Comenz\u00f3 su trabajo sacerdotal en Santa Rosa de Cop\u00e1n, el 10 de junio de 1962 y fue ordenado Obispo, el 25 de julio del mismo a\u00f1o.
