Es uno de los diecis\u00e9is municipios que conforman el departamento de Ocotepeque.<\/div>\n<div>Su historia hace menci\u00f3n a un se\u00f1or llamado Juan Mej\u00eda por que fue uno de los propulsores de conseguir el nombramiento del municipio.
