Pas\u00f3 su infancia en Royal Oak, M\u00edchigan. Como dijo, \u00abYo crec\u00ed corriendo en Detroit. Fui a la escuela con los hijos e hijas de trabajadores de la f\u00e1brica de autom\u00f3viles\u00bb. Glenn se involucr\u00f3 en el deporte, incluyendo un per\u00edodo en el equipo de lucha libre. He spent his childhood in Royal Oak, Michigan. As he said, \u201cI grew up racing in Detroit. I went to school with the sons and daughters of workers in the car factory. Glenn became involved in the sport, including a stint on the wrestling team. In addition to being a sportsman, his sharp mind led him to a class for talented young men at school. Out going, energetic, and handsome, he was popular with the boys and talented with the girls. He had taken piano lessons and was self-taught to play the guitar, inspired by a Beatles concert.<\/div>\r\n

While in Dondero High School he formed his first band called The Disciples (which later changed their name to The Subterraneans). He then moved on to The Mushrooms, which also included Dondero High School students: Doug Edwards on drums, Doug Gunsch and Bill Barnes on guitars, and Jeff Hodge on bass.<\/div>\r\n

he king moved to Los Angeles to follow his girlfriend who was an aspiring singer. His first professional recording as a music writer was leading Longbranch Pennywhistle, a duo he formed with J.D. Souther, in 1968.<\/div>\r\n

Glenn Frey underwent bowel surgery in November 2015. The musician passed away on January 18, 2016 from complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia.<\/div>\r\n
