Desde muy peque\u00f1o ya so\u00f1aba con dedicarse a la m\u00fasica y con tan solo siete a\u00f1os ya participaba en el coro de su colegio. Comenz\u00f3 a actuar en grupos formados por compa\u00f1eros de colegio. Su primer grupo serio fue Fresa, formado en 1972, pero no comenz\u00f3 a ser conocido hasta que gan\u00f3 un concurso de m\u00fasica moderna en Madrid, con el grupo \u00f1u. Las disputas con Jos\u00e9 Carlos Molina acaban por hacerle abandonar el grupo.<\/p>\n<p>En 1978\u00a0Rosendo\u00a0reaparece con otro grupo denominado &#8216;Le\u00f1o&#8217;, quiz\u00e1s uno de los grupos m\u00e1s influyentes del rock espa\u00f1ol. Con sus primeros discos consiguen importantes \u00e9xitos, sobre todo a raiz de su \u00e1lbum &#8216;Directo&#8217; y del disco titulado &#8216;Corre corre&#8217;, que comienza a ser escuchado en emisoras de radio, aumentando el renombre del grupo. Finalmente, como ocurriera en otros casos, Le\u00f1o se disuelve por problemas internos cuando estaba en el momento m\u00e1s alto de popularidad, tras giras multitudinarias por toda Espa\u00f1a con Miguel R\u00edos y Luz Casal.<\/p>\n<p>Rosendo\u00a0pasa unos a\u00f1os con problemas legales por el contrato que ten\u00eda con su anterior discogr\u00e1fica. Finalmente, todo eso se resuelve y en 1985 ficha por RCA y publica su primer \u00e1lbum en solitario, &#8216;Loco por incordiar&#8217;, con el que llega a vender 40.000 copias y suena en todas las emisoras de radio del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p>En 1986 publica su segundo disco en solitario, titulado &#8216;Fuera de lugar&#8217;, y un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s hace lo mismo con &#8216;A las lombrices&#8217;. El \u00e9xito de estos dos \u00faltimos discos resulta bastante menor que el del primero, quiz\u00e1s por el empe\u00f1o de Rosendo de innovar con nuevos sonidos, algo que no resulta muy bien acogido por el p\u00fablico. Todo esto provoca tiranteces con la discogr\u00e1fica, lo que les lleva a romper su relaci\u00f3n y Rosendo se queda nuevamente sin sello que lo represente.<\/p>\n<p>En 1988\u00a0Rosendo\u00a0ficha por la independiente Twins, y el primer fruto de esa uni\u00f3n ser\u00eda un \u00e1lbum titulado &#8216;Jugar al gua&#8217;, un disco imprescindible en la discograf\u00eda de Rosendo, con temas como &#8216;Flojos de pantal\u00f3n&#8217; o &#8216;Cosita&#8217;. Posteriormente, se edita un \u00e1lbum en directo, titulado &#8216;Directo&#8217;, que iba a ser grabado en Mosc\u00fa, pero problemas de organizaci\u00f3n obligaron a olvidar esa idea y el \u00e1lbum fue finalmente grabado en una actuaci\u00f3n en Madrid.<br \/>\nEn 1991 ficha por DRO y p\u00fablica &#8216;Deja que les diga que no&#8217; y &#8216;La Tortuga&#8217;, en 1992. Su estilo evoluciona, realizando trabajos un poco m\u00e1s alejados de aquel Rosendo rockero urbano de los primeros a\u00f1os, aunque de vez en cuando nos brinda pinceladas que nos recuerdan sus or\u00edgenes.<\/p>\n<p>Su \u00faltimo disco hasta ahora es &#8216;Veo veo&#8230; mamoneo&#8217;. Rosendo ha realizado uno de los mejores trabajos de toda su carrera. El de Carabanchel ha escrito posiblemente sus mejores letras hasta la fecha, mostr\u00e1ndose m\u00e1s incisivo que nunca en una \u00e9poca que necesita de letristas comprometidos como \u00e9l. Asimismo, el tratamiento de la voz y el sonido de las guitarras son dos de los puntos fuertes del \u00e1lbum. \u00a1Destacan cortes como el primer single \u2018\u00a1Masculino singular\u2019, \u2018Quincalla o no!&#8217;, &#8216;Sufrido&#8217;, &#8216;Entredientes&#8217;. Adem\u00e1s, el disco contiene dos baladas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Date of Birth:<\/strong> February 23, 1954<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Biography<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rosendo Mercado, better known as Rosendo, was born on February 23, 1954 in Madrid. From a very young age he already dreamed of dedicating himself to music and when he was only seven years old he was already participating in his school choir. He began performing in groups made up of schoolmates. His first serious group was Fresa, formed in 1972, but it did not become known until he won a modern music contest in Madrid with the group \u00f1u. The disputes with Jos\u00e9 Carlos Molina end up making him leave the group.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1978 Rosendo reappeared with another group called &#8216;Le\u00f1o&#8217;, perhaps one of the most influential groups in Spanish rock. With their first albums they achieve important successes, especially as a result of their album &#8216;Directo&#8217; and the album entitled &#8216;Corre corre&#8217;, which begins to be heard on radio stations, increasing the group&#8217;s popularity. Finally, as happened in other cases, Le\u00f1o dissolved due to internal problems when he was at the height of his popularity, after massive tours throughout Spain with Miguel R\u00edos and Luz Casal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rosendo spends a few years with legal problems due to the contract he had with his previous record label. Finally, all that was resolved and in 1985 he signed with RCA and released his first solo album, &#8216;Loco por incordiar&#8217;, with which he sold 40,000 copies and was played on all the radio stations in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1986 he released his second solo album, titled &#8216;Fuera de lugar&#8217;, and a year later he did the same with &#8216;A las lombrices&#8217;. The success of these last two albums is much less than that of the first, perhaps due to Rosendo&#8217;s determination to innovate with new sounds, something that is not very well received by the public. All this causes tensions with the record company, which leads them to break their relationship and Rosendo is again left without a label to represent him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1988 Rosendo signed for the independent Twins, and the first fruit of that union would be an album entitled &#8216;Jugar al gua&#8217;, an essential record in Rosendo&#8217;s discography, with songs like &#8216;Flojos de pants&#8217; or &#8216;Cosita&#8217;. Later, a live album was released, entitled &#8216;Directo&#8217;, which was going to be recorded in Moscow, but organizational problems forced them to forget that idea and the album was finally recorded at a performance in Madrid.<br \/>\nIn 1991 he signs with DRO and publishes &#8216;Deja que les dice que no&#8217; and &#8216;La Tortuga&#8217;, in 1992. His style evolved, producing works that are a little more distant from that urban rocker Rosendo of the early years, although from time to time we provides brushstrokes that remind us of its origins.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His latest album to date is &#8216;I see&#8230; I suck&#8217;. Rosendo has done one of the best jobs of his entire career. The one from Carabanchel has possibly written his best lyrics to date, showing himself to be more incisive than ever at a time that needs committed lyricist like him. Likewise, the treatment of the voice and the sound of the guitars are two of the strong points of the album. Cuts such as the first single &#8216;\u00a1Masculino singular&#8217;, &#8216;Quincalla o no!&#8217;, &#8216;Sufrido&#8217;, &#8216;Entredientes&#8217; stand out.
