Mejor conocida por su nombre art\u00edstico Ely Guerra o como algunos la llaman “la Guerra”, es una cantautora y productora musical mexicana. Fue ganadora del Grammy Latino en 2010 por su \u00e1lbum Hombre Invisible. En 2004 lanza a la venta Sweet & Sour, Hot y Spicy el cual hasta el momento ha sido su disco m\u00e1s vendido y con ello lanz\u00e1ndola al \u00e9xito internacional.<\/div>\n

Es hija de Alberto Guerra (director t\u00e9cnico de f\u00fatbol de M\u00e9xico) y Gloria V\u00e1zquez (modelo mexicana). Vivi\u00f3 pocos a\u00f1os en Monterrey, Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez y San Luis Potos\u00ed; posteriormente emigr\u00f3 con su familia a Guadalajara.<\/div>\n

Antes de incursionar como solista, fue parte de un grupo en los ochentas, llamado Carm\u00edn cuyo tema m\u00e1s conocido es; “Carm\u00edn, un grito en la oscuridad”, y adem\u00e1s tuvo participaciones con reconocidos m\u00fasicos y agrupaciones mexicanas tales como Jos\u00e9 Fors y Fratta. A la edad de quince a\u00f1os busc\u00f3 sus propias oportunidades musicales en la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico, donde logr\u00f3 obtener un contrato con la disquera BMG. Dos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, lanz\u00f3 su primer \u00e1lbum, titulado “Ely Guerra” (1992\/1995\/1997), e incluye tracks como: J\u00farame (original de Mar\u00eda Greever), Atada a tu piel, Las Gafas de Lennon, Atr\u00e9vete, Quiero Verte, etc.<\/div>\n

Con EMI lanz\u00f3 su \u00e1lbum “Pa’ Morirse de Amor” (1997), del que destacaron los sencillos “\u00c1ngel de Fuego” y Peligro. Otros tracks de este disco son No quiero hablar y Por qu\u00e9 tendr\u00eda que llorar por ti.<\/div>\n

En 1999 lanz\u00f3 su tercer disco “Lotofire”, del cual se desprendieron los sencillos: “Tengo Fr\u00edo”, “Yo no” y “Vete”. De este \u00e1lbum tambi\u00e9n destacan los temas “Prometo Ser”, “Mejor Me Voy”, etc. Posteriormente fue lanzado en Estados Unidos, por la disquera Higher Octave. En Argentina y Chile se edit\u00f3 parte de “Lotofire” y “Pa’ Morirse de Amor” como un EP llamado “4”.En 2001, particip\u00f3 en el MTV Unplugged del grupo chileno La Ley, interpretando la canci\u00f3n “El Duelo”. Este mismo a\u00f1o Ely particip\u00f3 en la banda sonora de la pel\u00edcula “De La Calle” con el tema “De La Calle” por el cual recibi\u00f3 el premio MTV Movie Award por mejor canci\u00f3n para una pel\u00edcula en los Mtv Movie Awards Mexico en el 2002.<\/div>\n

Better known by her stage name Ely Guerra or as some call her “la Guerra”, she is a Mexican singer-songwriter and music producer. She was a Latin Grammy winner in 2010 for her album Hombre Invisible. In 2004, she released Sweet & Sour, Hot and Spicy, which to date has been her best-selling album, launching her to international success.<\/p>\n

She is the daughter of Alberto Guerra (Mexican soccer technical director) and Gloria V\u00e1zquez (Mexican model). He lived a few years in Monterrey, Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez and San Luis Potos\u00ed; later he emigrated with his family to Guadalajara.<\/p>\n

Before venturing as a soloist, he was part of a group in the eighties called Carm\u00edn whose best-known song is; “Carm\u00edn, a cry in the dark”, and also had participations with renowned Mexican musicians and groups such as Jos\u00e9 Fors and Fratta. At the age of fifteen, he pursued his own musical opportunities in Mexico City, where he managed to obtain a contract with the BMG label. Two years later, he released his first album, entitled “Ely Guerra” (1992\/1995\/1997), and includes tracks such as: J\u00farame (original by Mar\u00eda Greever), Atada a tu piel, Lennon’s Glasses, Atr\u00e9vete, Quiero Verte , etc.<\/p>\n

At the end of his contract with BMG, Ely joined EMI.<\/p>\n

With EMI he released his album “Pa’ Morirse de Amor” (1997), from which the singles “\u00c1ngel de Fuego” and Peligro stood out. Other tracks on this album are I don’t want to talk and Why would I have to cry for you.<\/p>\n

In 1999 he released his third album “Lotofire”, from which came the singles: ” Tengo Fr\u00edo”, “Yo no” and “Vete”. The songs “Prometo Ser”, “Mejor Me Voy”, etc. also stand out from this album. It was later released in the United States on the Higher Octave label. In Argentina and Chile part of “Lotofire” and “Pa’ Morirse de Amor” was released as an EP called “4”. In 2001, he participated in the MTV Unplugged of the Chilean group La Ley, interpreting the song “El Duelo”. This same year Ely participated in the soundtrack of the movie “De La Calle” with the song “De La Calle” for which he received the MTV Movie Award for best song for a movie at the Mtv Movie Awards Mexico in 2002.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
