Wilson Choperena, fue un compositor y cantante colombiano de m\u00fasica coste\u00f1a, autor de la letra de la famosa cumbia La pollera color\u00e1.<\/div>\n

Desde joven incursion\u00f3 en el canto y la composici\u00f3n. En 1956 se uni\u00f3 al director de orquesta Pedro Salcedo como cantante de planta, alcanzando \u00e9xitos en diferentes ciudades del pa\u00eds. En 1961 se traslada a Barranquilla con la orquesta de Salcedo y graba con Discos Tropical el famoso \u00e9xito La pollera color\u00e1, del cual fue autor de la letra (la m\u00fasica es del clarinetista Juan Madera), tema que le dio la vuelta al mundo y que tambi\u00e9n grabaron agrupaciones como el Cuarteto Imperial, Los Mel\u00f3dicos, El Mariachi de Rom\u00e1n Palomar, la Sonora Ponce\u00f1a, Pacheco y Fajardo, entre otras.<\/div>\n

En mayo de 2010, la justicia colombiana resolvi\u00f3 en su contra una demanda donde Juan Madera, compositor de la m\u00fasica de la La pollera color\u00e1 reclamaba la autor\u00eda de la canci\u00f3n.<\/div>\n

Choperena sufr\u00eda del mal de Parkinson y muri\u00f3 de muerte natural en el hospital de Las Corpas de Bogot\u00e1.<\/div>\n

Wilson Choperena, was a Colombian composer and singer of coastal music, author of the lyrics of the famous cumbia La pollera color\u00e1. From a young age he ventured into singing and composition. In 1956 he joined the conductor Pedro Salcedo as a regular singer, achieving success in different cities of the country. In 1961 he moved to Barranquilla with the Salcedo orchestra and recorded with Discos Tropical the famous hit La pollera color\u00e1, of which he was the author of the lyrics (the music is by clarinetist Juan Madera), a theme that went around the world and that They also recorded groups such as the Imperial Quartet, Los Mel\u00f3dicos, El Mariachi de Rom\u00e1n Palomar, Sonora Ponce\u00f1a, Pacheco and Fajardo, among others.<\/div>\n
