Es una cantante estadounidense de soul y pop. Hermana de Dee Dee Warwick, sobrina de Cissy Houston y prima de Whitney Houston.<\/p>\n

El trabajo musical m\u00e1s elogiado de Dionne Warwick es el que realiz\u00f3 con los compositores Hal David y Burt Bacharach.<\/p>\n

Se inici\u00f3 en la m\u00fasica como cantante gospel con su familia. Su debut en solitario de la mano de Burt Bacharach en 1962 (“Don’t Make Me Over”) apareci\u00f3 por una errata de imprenta bajo el apellido Warwick, no Warrick; un error que propici\u00f3 el nombre art\u00edstico de Dionne para toda su carrera. Este sencillo tuvo un cierto \u00e9xito, situaci\u00f3n que no volver\u00eda a repetirse hasta 1964 con “Anyone Who Had a Heart” y “Walk on By”, este \u00faltimo un \u00e9xito en el Reino Unido. Les suceder\u00edan otros hasta 1971 en la que abandon\u00f3 el sello Scepter por una fuerte disputa mantenida con Bacharach.<\/p>\n

En su etapa posterior en Warner, consigui\u00f3 el \u00e9xito con el tema “Then Came You”, de 1974 escrito por Thom Bell y Linda Creed e interpretado en un dueto con The Spinners.<\/p>\n

En la d\u00e9cada de los 80, y tras un nuevo cambio de sello discogr\u00e1fico, obtuvo un nuevo \u00e9xito con “Heartbreaker” en 1982, canci\u00f3n compuesta por The Bee Gees con la voz de Barry Gibb en el coro. She is an American soul and pop singer. Sister of Dee Dee Warwick, niece of Cissy Houston, and cousin of Whitney Houston.<\/p>\n

Dionne Warwick’s most praised musical work is the one she made with composers Hal David and Burt Bacharach.<\/p>\n

He started in music as a gospel singer with his family. His 1962 Burt Bacharach solo debut (“Don’t Make Me Over”) appeared by misprint under the surname Warwick, not Warrick; a mistake that led to the artistic name of Dionne for her entire career. This single had some success, a situation that would not be repeated until 1964 with “Anyone Who Had a Heart” and “Walk on By”, the latter a hit in the UK. Others would succeed them until 1971 in which he left the Scepter label due to a strong dispute with Bacharach.<\/p>\n

In his later stint at Warners, he found success with the 1974 song “Then Came You,” written by Thom Bell and Linda Creed and performed as a duet with The Spinners.<\/p>\n

In the 1980s, and after a new change of record label, he had a new success with “Heartbreaker” in 1982, a song composed by The Bee Gees with the voice of Barry Gibb in the chorus. From then on his recordings were spaced out, until a rise in popularity in 2006 with an album of duets (My friends & me).<\/p>\n
