Sledge fue una de las figuras clave del soul y uno de los pioneros del llamado country soul a finales de la d\u00e9cada de 1960. Se le conoce mundialmente por su interpretaci\u00f3n del tema When a Man Loves a Woman (1966), que fue el \u00fanico n\u00famero 1 de toda su discograf\u00eda. Su admirable voz le llev\u00f3 a la inmortalizaci\u00f3n de dicho tema, aunque tambi\u00e9n obtuvo otros grandes \u00e9xitos en la d\u00e9cada de 1970, como I’ll be your everything y Sunshine.<\/div>\n
