Jos\u00e9 Miguel Gallardo Vera (Granada, Espa\u00f1a, naci\u00f3 el 29 de septiembre de 1950 – Madrid, Espa\u00f1a, muri\u00f3 el 11 de noviembre de 2005), cantautor y productor musical espa\u00f1ol. Fue uno de los cantantes espa\u00f1oles de m\u00e1s \u00e9xito en los a\u00f1os setenta y principios de los ochenta.<\/div>\n

Miguel Gallardo naci\u00f3 en Granada, Espa\u00f1a, a los ocho a\u00f1os se traslad\u00f3 con su familia a vivir en Barcelona, terminando la adolescencia ingres\u00f3 a la Universidad de Ingenier\u00eda T\u00e9cnica de Vilanova i la Geltr\u00fa de esa ciudad, simult\u00e1neamente estudiaba solfeo, guitarra y piano en el Conservatorio de M\u00fasica de Barcelona.<\/div>\n

En los a\u00f1os noventa se retir\u00f3 de la m\u00fasica para dedicarse a su empresa productora y editora Veramusic y dar oportunidad a nuevos talentos emergentes, entre ellos Az\u00facar Moreno y David Bustamante. Ten\u00eda proyectado retornar nuevamente a la m\u00fasica para el nuevo milenio.<\/div>\n

Falleci\u00f3 en la Cl\u00ednica Anderson de Madrid, donde estaba ingresado a consecuencia de un c\u00e1ncer. Estuvo casado con la actriz Pilar Vel\u00e1zquez.<\/div>\n

Su carrera discogr\u00e1fica comienza como compositor de otros artistas. Como cantante, sus primeros dos sencillos los lanz\u00f3 bajo el nombre “Eddy Gallardo” en 1972 y 1973, respectivamente. En 1973 lanza otros dos sencillos m\u00e1s, esta vez con el nombre “Miguel Gallardo”, el cual utilizar\u00eda el resto de su carrera. Durante 1974 lanza primeros sencillos que destacaron en el mercado, “Recordando a Glenn” y “Qu\u00e9date”, canci\u00f3n inspirada en el poema “Farewell” de Pablo Neruda con la que logra su primer n\u00famero uno en Espa\u00f1a.<\/div>\n

En 1975 lanza su primer gran \u00e9xito: “Hoy tengo ganas de ti” y luego, en este mismo a\u00f1o, lanza su primer \u00e1lbum “Autorretrato” convirti\u00e9ndose en el primer artista espa\u00f1ol en ser distribuido por el prestigioso sello EMI-Harvest.<\/div>\n

A partir de este momento se consolida en el mercado hispanoamericano. Temas como “Hoy tengo ganas de ti”, con la cual ha alcanzado m\u00e1s de dos millones en ventas y que ha sido versionada en otras lenguas como: franc\u00e9s, ingl\u00e9s, portugu\u00e9s, chino, finland\u00e9s, griego, y otros como: “Otro ocupa mi lugar”, “Gorri\u00f3n”, “Y t\u00fa d\u00f3nde est\u00e1s”, “Saldr\u00e9 a buscar el amor”, “Y apago la luz”, ratifican su \u00e9xito.<\/div>\n

En la d\u00e9cada de los 80’s lanz\u00f3 varios \u00e1lbumes que alcanzaron discos de oro y platino en la mayor\u00eda de pa\u00edses de habla hispana. Destacan canciones como “Coraz\u00f3n”, “Tu amante o tu enemigo”, “Muchachita” y “Coraz\u00f3n viajero”. Durante este per\u00edodo hizo continuas giras por Espa\u00f1a y Latinoam\u00e9rica, actuando en lugares tan emblem\u00e1ticos como el Madison Square Garden de Nueva York y el Greek Theatre de Los \u00c1ngeles (California).<\/div>\n

En 1988 lanza su \u00e1lbum “Am\u00e9rica”, grabado en Los \u00c1ngeles. Ese mismo a\u00f1o fue nominado a los Premios Grammy por “Am\u00e9rica”.<\/div>\n

En 1990 recibe el premio ACE (Asociaci\u00f3n de Cr\u00edticos del Espect\u00e1culo) de Nueva York, como el mejor cantante latino.<\/div>\n

Hacia mediados de la d\u00e9cada de los 90’s, crea su propia editorial y productora musical denominada “Veramusic”, dedicada a buscar y lanzar nuevos compositores, autores e int\u00e9rpretes. En junio de 1999 recibi\u00f3 de Sony ATV Music Publishing un Disco de Diamante por las ventas del cat\u00e1logo de Veramusic en sus tres primeros a\u00f1os de existencia, en los cuales cuenta con canciones grabadas por artistas como: Az\u00facar Moreno, Sergio Dalma, Ana Torroja (Mecano), Ana Bel\u00e9n, Alejandra Guzm\u00e1n, Lucero, Greta y Los Garbo, Mijares, Missiego, entre otros. En julio de ese mismo a\u00f1o, recibi\u00f3 otro Disco de Diamante, por las ventas de las canciones escritas por Miguel Gallardo en esos a\u00f1os. Tambi\u00e9n produjo el \u00e1lbum “Dando Guerra” de Los Del R\u00edo.<\/div>\n

Jos\u00e9 Miguel Gallardo Vera (Granada, Spain, born September 29, 1950 – Madrid, Spain, died November 11, 2005), Spanish singer-songwriter and music producer. He was one of the most successful Spanish singers in the seventies and early eighties.<\/div>\n

Miguel Gallardo was born in Granada, Spain, at the age of eight he moved with his family to live in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bfinishing his adolescence he entered the Vilanova i la Geltr\u00fa University of Technical Engineering in that city, simultaneously studying music theory, guitar and piano at the Music Conservatory of Barcelona.<\/div>\n

In the 1990s he retired from music to dedicate himself to his production and publishing company Veramusic and give opportunity to new emerging talents, including Az\u00facar Moreno and David Bustamante. He had planned to return to music again for the new millennium.<\/div>\n

He died at the Anderson Clinic in Madrid, where he was hospitalized as a result of cancer. He was married to actress Pilar Vel\u00e1zquez.<\/div>\n

His recording career begins as a composer for other artists. As a singer, his first two singles were released under the name “Eddy Gallardo” in 1972 and 1973, respectively. In 1973 he released two more singles, this time under the name “Miguel Gallardo”, which he would use for the rest of his career. During 1974 he released his first singles that stood out in the market, “Recordando a Glenn” and “Qu\u00e9date”, a song inspired by Pablo Neruda’s poem “Farewell” with which he achieved his first number one in Spain.<\/div>\n

In 1975 he released his first great success: “Today I have a desire for you” and later, in the same year, he released his first album “Autorretrato” becoming the first Spanish artist to be distributed by the prestigious EMI-Harvest label.<\/div>\n

From this moment it is consolidated in the Hispanic-American market. Songs such as “Today I want you”, with which it has reached more than two million in sales and which has been versioned in other languages \u200b\u200bsuch as: French, English, Portuguese, Chinese, Finnish, Greek, and others such as: “Another occupies my place”, “Sparrow”, “And where are you”, “I will go out to look for love”, “And I turn off the light”, ratify its success.<\/div>\n

In the 80’s he released several albums that reached gold and platinum records in most Spanish-speaking countries. Songs like “Coraz\u00f3n”, “Your lover or your enemy”, “Muchachita” and “Coraz\u00f3n traveler” stand out. During this period he made continuous tours of Spain and Latin America, performing in such emblematic places as Madison Square Garden in New York and the Greek Theater in Los Angeles (California).<\/div>\n

In 1988 he released his album “America”, recorded in Los Angeles. That same year he was nominated for a Grammy Award for “America.”<\/div>\n

In June 1999, it received a Diamond Record from Sony ATV Music Publishing for the sales of the Veramusic catalog in its first three years of existence, in which it has songs recorded by artists such as: Az\u00facar Moreno, Sergio Dalma, Ana Torroja (Mecano ), Ana Bel\u00e9n, Alejandra Guzm\u00e1n, Lucero, Greta and Los Garbo, Mijares, Missiego, among others. In July of that same year, he received another Diamond Record, for the sales of the songs written by Miguel Gallardo in those years.
