Gian Franco naci\u00f3 en N\u00e1poles el 26 de julio de 1941, fue un cantautor \u00edtalo-argentino, con gran \u00e9xito en Am\u00e9rica Latina. Sus padres eran Francesco y Anna y sus hermanos Antonio, Annamaria y Sonya. A los 6 a\u00f1os comenz\u00f3 con sus estudios primarios en una escuela de monjas en la localidad de Bagnoli. Sus inclinaciones art\u00edsticas comenzaron a temprana edad, su habilidad en el dibujo y un o\u00eddo musical lo hicieron popular en la escuela. En su familia era cosa de todos los d\u00edas cantar arias de \u00f3pera como Tosca, La Boheme, Cavalleria Rusticana, I Pagliacci, y canciones napolitanas como O sole mio o Torna a Surriento. Sus padres le ten\u00edan previsto otro futuro; quer\u00edan que fuese arquitecto por su facilidad para el dibujo. Pero Gian Franco cada vez se interesaba m\u00e1s por las artes.<\/div>\n

Buscando Am\u00e9rica<\/strong><\/div>\n

Un d\u00eda zarpan buscando otras tierras a bordo del transatl\u00e1ntico SS Conte Grande. Cruz\u00f3 el Atl\u00e1ntico en 16 d\u00edas hacia Am\u00e9rica. El barco amarr\u00f3 en el puerto de Santos, Brasil. All\u00ed los Pagliaro permanecieron casi 2 a\u00f1os viviendo unos meses en San Paulo y el resto en R\u00edo de Janeiro. Posteriormente viajaron a Argentina. Gian Franco Pagliaro lleg\u00f3 a un campo ubicado en Chivilcoy (Pcia. de Buenos Aires) -donde all\u00ed viv\u00edan unos primos del padre de Pagliaro- a los 6 a\u00f1os. Su apellido real es Ottaviano. Cuando Gian Franco comenz\u00f3 a cantar con su voz ronca y quebrada, lo hizo en italiano, su idioma natal. Al quedarse en la Argentina decidi\u00f3 cantar en castellano, contra la voluntad de su pap\u00e1. La idea de regresar a Italia segu\u00eda latente. Hab\u00eda que continuar los estudios en italiano por si acaso… Pap\u00e1 Francesco entonces contrata un profesor italiano: el Profesor Ginobili, licenciado en lengua italiana, literatura latina, griega, en filosof\u00eda y en historia del arte. El encuentro con el profesor Ginobili fue fundamental en la vida y en la futura carrera de Gian Franco Pagliaro.<\/div>\n

Gian Franco was born in Naples on July 26, 1941, he was an Italian-Argentine singer-songwriter, with great success in Latin America. His parents were Francesco and Anna and his brothers Antonio, Annamaria and Sonya. At the age of 6, she began her primary studies at a school for nuns in the town of Bagnoli. His artistic inclinations began at an early age, his skill in drawing and a musical ear made him popular in school. In his family it was an everyday thing to sing opera arias such as Tosca, La Boh\u00e8me, Cavalleria Rusticana, I Pagliacci, and Neapolitan songs like O sole mio or Torna a Surriento. His parents had another future for him; they wanted him to be an architect because of his ability to draw. But Gian Franco became more and more interested in the arts.<\/div>\n

Looking for\u00a0<\/strong>America<\/b><\/div>\n

One day they set sail looking for other lands aboard the ocean liner SS Conte Grande. He crossed the Atlantic in 16 days to America. The ship moored in the port of Santos, Brazil. There the Pagliaros spent almost 2 years living for a few months in S\u00e3o Paulo and the rest in Rio de Janeiro. Later they traveled to Argentina. Gian Franco Pagliaro arrived at a field located in Chivilcoy (Province of Buenos Aires) -where some cousins of Pagliaro’s father lived- at the age of 6. His real last name is Ottaviano. When Gian Franco began to sing in his hoarse, cracking voice, he did so in Italian, his native language. When he stayed in Argentina, he decided to sing in Spanish, against his father’s will. The idea of returning to Italy was still latent. You had to continue your studies in Italian just in case … Papa Francesco then hires an Italian teacher: Professor Ginobili, a graduate in Italian language, Latin literature, Greek, in philosophy and in art history. The meeting with Professor Ginobili was fundamental in the life and future career of Gian Franco Pagliaro.<\/div>\n
