Biograf\u00eda<\/strong><\/p>\n

V\u00edctor Manuel San Jos\u00e9 S\u00e1nchez, conocido a secas, como V\u00edctor Manuel.<\/p>\n

A la edad de 16 a\u00f1os inicia su carrera art\u00edstica, present\u00e1ndose a concursos musicales y cantando en la orquesta “Bossa Nova”.<\/p>\n

En 1964 Victor manuel se muda a Madrid, para estudiar piano y canto. A partir de ese entonces, hasta mediados de 1965 canta en el programa “La nueva ola musical”, de la emisora de radio La Voz de Madrid, y en 1965 graba unos sencillos con la discogr\u00e1fica Belter.<\/p>\n

Dos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s llegan sus primeros \u00e9xitos en el \u00e1mbito de la composici\u00f3n, precisamente en el “Festival del Mi\u00f1o”, cuando el tema de su autor\u00eda “Lazos azules y rosas” gana el premio. Asimismo, le sucede al tema “Nada es igual” en el “Festival de Eo”.<\/p>\n

A fines de 1969, aparece su \u00e1lbum debut “V\u00edctor Manuel”, del cual se extraen temas como “La Romer\u00eda” o “El abuelo V\u00edtor”, las cuales tuvieron buena acogida en las emisoras. Es as\u00ed como se va ganando un nombre, pero tambi\u00e9n el rechazo de cierto sector de la sociedad por la tem\u00e1tica y contenidos de sus canciones. Paralelamente participa en el “Festival de Villancicos Nuevos de Pamplona”, obteniendo el primer premio gracias a su canci\u00f3n “En el portal\u00edn de piedra”.<\/p>\n

Inicia la d\u00e9cada de los 70 con su segundo \u00e1lbum, titulado “Quiero abrazarte tanto”, junto a la discogr\u00e1fica Philips. A ra\u00edz del lanzamiento de este disco, el cantante se embarca en una gira Latinoam\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n

Un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s sale al mercado su tercera producci\u00f3n bajo el t\u00edtulo de “Dame la mano”, con el que topa con la censura. Por ello, se ve obligado a reescribir muchas de las canciones. Poco tiempo despu\u00e9s sale de gira junto a Julio Iglesias. Ese mismo a\u00f1o, es parte del elenco de la pel\u00edcula “Morbo” junto a Ana Bel\u00e9n.<\/p>\n

En 1972, V\u00edctor Manuel escribe la obra teatral “Ravos”, que no se pudo presentar por la censura. Por ese entonces, aparece nuevamente en otra pel\u00edcula: “Al diablo con amor”, en donde comparte cr\u00e9ditos otra vez junto a Ana Bel\u00e9n. Ambos graban la banda sonora de la pel\u00edcula, que lleva el mismo nombre.<\/p>\n

El 13 de junio de 1972, V\u00edctor Manuel y Ana Bel\u00e9n se casan por lo civil en Gibraltar.<\/p>\n

Por aqu\u00e9l tiempo, logra estrenar su obra “Ravos”, pero en M\u00e9xico. A ra\u00edz de este suceso tiene problemas con el gobierno espa\u00f1ol y decide exiliarse un tiempo del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

En 1973 graba un disco con canciones populares asturianas titulado “Verde”, y en M\u00e9xico reedita un disco suyo. Pasado un a\u00f1o edita el LP “Todos tenemos un precio” (1974).<\/p>\n

1975 trae consigo un nuevo material discogr\u00e1fico, esta vez titulado “C\u00f3micos”. A fines de a\u00f1o vuelve a participar en el Festival de Villancicos Nuevos de Pamplona. En esta oportunidad, canta tres temas no permitidos por la censura, por lo que es detenido.<\/p>\n

En 1976 sale a la venta su primer disco en vivo titulado “V\u00edctor Manuel en Directo”. Ese mismo a\u00f1o, durante un viaje que realiz\u00f3 a la isla de Cuba, recibe la noticia de que un grupo terrorista de extrema derecha, atent\u00f3 contra su domicilio. Poco tiempo despu\u00e9s, mientras a\u00fan se encontraba en Cuba, nace su primer hijo, David.<\/p>\n

Meses m\u00e1s tarde edita el \u00e1lbum “Diez” (1977), y su siguiente producci\u00f3n, “Spanien” (1977), es grabada en Alemania. Adem\u00e1s compone las bandas sonoras de las pel\u00edculas “La Criatura” y “Las truchas”. Ya para 1978, aparece el disco “Canto para todos”.<\/p>\n

En 1978 se publica “Soy un coraz\u00f3n tendido al sol”. De este \u00e1lbum se extrae el tema “S\u00f3lo Pienso en Ti”, considerado por muchos como su obra maestra. Gracias a este disco gana varios premios.<\/p>\n

A principios de la d\u00e9cada de los 80, graba en Mil\u00e1n el disco “Luna”. Esta producci\u00f3n incluye el tema “Qui\u00e9n puso m\u00e1s”, considerada una de las primeras en tratar el tema de homosexualidad abiertamente. Gracias a esta canci\u00f3n logra ocupar los primeros puestos de las listas de \u00e9xitos.<\/p>\n

Un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s presenta el LP “Ay amor” (1981) y dos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde aparece el disco “Por el camino”, que coincide con el nacimiento de su hija Marina.<\/p>\n

En 1985 graba en Londres el \u00e1lbum “Querido Pablo” junto a grandes artistas como Joan Manuel Serrat, Ana Bel\u00e9n, Miguel R\u00edos, Silvio Rodr\u00edguez, y Mercedes Sosa, en otros, en honor a Pablo Milan\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Un a\u00f1o m\u00e1s tarde edita el \u00e1lbum “Para la ternura siempre hay tiempo” junto a Ana Bel\u00e9n. Este exitoso material se convierte en el disco m\u00e1s vendido del a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

En 1987 produce la pel\u00edcula “Divinas palabras”, e invierte en su propia compa\u00f1\u00eda discogr\u00e1fica (Ion m\u00fasica). Un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s, sale al mercado el LP “Que te puedo dar”. Por ese entonces recibe el premio honor\u00edfico la “Manzana de Oro”.<\/p>\n

Ya en la d\u00e9cada de los 90, graba “El delicado olor de las violetas” (1990) y, tras tres a\u00f1os de ausencia, aparece “A donde ir\u00e1n los besos”.<\/p>\n

En 1994, graba el disco en vivo “Mucho m\u00e1s que dos” junto a Joaqu\u00edn Sabina, Joan Manuel Serrat, Pablo Milan\u00e9s, Manolo Tena, Juan Echanove, Miguel R\u00edos y Antonio Flores. Con este \u00e1lbum se lanza a hacer una gira por Espa\u00f1a y Nueva York.<\/p>\n

Biography<\/strong><\/p>\n

V\u00edctor Manuel San Jos\u00e9 S\u00e1nchez, known simply as V\u00edctor Manuel.<\/p>\n

At the age of 16, he began his artistic career, appearing in musical competitions and singing in the “Bossa Nova” orchestra.<\/p>\n

In 1964 Victor Manuel moved to Madrid to study piano and singing. From then on, until mid-1965, he sang on the program “La nueva ola musical”, on the radio station La Voz de Madrid, and in 1965 he recorded some singles with the Belter label.<\/p>\n

Two years later his first successes in the field of composition arrived, precisely at the “Festival del Mi\u00f1o”, when his song “Lazos Azules y Rosas” won the prize. Likewise, it happens to the theme “Nothing is the same” in the “Eo Festival”.<\/p>\n

At the end of 1969, his debut album “V\u00edctor Manuel” appears, from which songs such as “La Romer\u00eda” or “El grandfather V\u00edtor” are extracted, which were well received by the stations. This is how he gains a name, but also the rejection of a certain sector of society due to the theme and content of his songs. At the same time, he participated in the “Festival of New Carols of Pamplona”, obtaining the first prize thanks to his song “En el portal\u00edn de piedra”.<\/p>\n

He started the 70’s with his second album, entitled “I want to hug you so much”, together with the Philips record company. Following the release of this album, the singer embarks on a Latin American tour.<\/p>\n

A year later his third production was released under the title “Give me your hand”, with which he ran into censorship. Therefore, he is forced to rewrite many of the songs. A short time later he goes on tour with Julio Iglesias. That same year, he is part of the cast of the movie “Morbo” with Ana Bel\u00e9n.<\/p>\n

In 1972, V\u00edctor Manuel wrote the play “Ravos”, which could not be presented due to censorship. At that time, he appears again in another film: “To the devil with love”, where he shares credits again with Ana Bel\u00e9n. Both record the soundtrack of the film, which bears the same name.<\/p>\n

On June 13, 1972, V\u00edctor Manuel and Ana Bel\u00e9n got married civilly in Gibraltar.<\/p>\n

At that time, he manages to premiere his work “Ravos”, but in Mexico. As a result of this event, he has problems with the Spanish government and decides to exile himself from the country for a while.<\/p>\n

In 1973 he recorded an album with popular Asturian songs entitled “Verde”, and in Mexico he reissued one of his albums. After a year, he edited the LP “Todos tiene un price” (1974).<\/p>\n

1975 brings with it a new record material, this time titled “Comics”. At the end of the year he returns to participate in the New Christmas Carols Festival in Pamplona. On this occasion, he sings three songs not allowed by censorship, for which he is arrested.<\/p>\n

In 1976 his first live album entitled “V\u00edctor Manuel en Directo” was released. That same year, during a trip to the island of Cuba, he received the news that an extreme right-wing terrorist group attacked his home. A short time later, while he was still in Cuba, his first son, David, was born.<\/p>\n

Months later he released the album “Diez” (1977), and his next production, “Spanien” (1977), was recorded in Germany. He also composes the soundtracks for the films “La Creatura” and “Las truchas”. By 1978, the album “Canto para todos” appears.<\/p>\n

In 1978 “I am a heart stretched out in the sun” was published. From this album the song “Just Think of You” is taken, considered by many to be his masterpiece. Thanks to this disc wins several prizes.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the 80’s, he recorded the album “Luna” in Milan. This production includes the theme “Who put more”, considered one of the first to deal openly with the issue of homosexuality. Thanks to this song he manages to occupy the first positions of the charts.<\/p>\n

A year later he presents the LP “Ay amor” (1981) and two years later the album “Por el camino” appears, which coincides with the birth of his daughter Marina.<\/p>\n

In 1985 he recorded the album “Querido Pablo” in London together with great artists such as Joan Manuel Serrat, Ana Bel\u00e9n, Miguel R\u00edos, Silvio Rodr\u00edguez, and Mercedes Sosa, in others, in honor of Pablo Milan\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

A year later he edited the album “Para la ternura siempre hay tiempo” together with Ana Bel\u00e9n. This successful material becomes the best-selling album of the year.<\/p>\n

In 1987, he produced the film “Divine Words” and invested in his own record company (Ion music). A year later, the LP “Que te puede dar” is released. At that time he received the honorary award the “Golden Apple”.<\/p>\n

Already in the 90’s, he recorded “The delicate smell of violets” (1990) and, after three years of absence, “Where the kisses will go” appears.<\/p>\n

In 1994, he recorded the live album “Mucho m\u00e1s que dos” together with Joaqu\u00edn Sabina, Joan Manuel Serrat, Pablo Milan\u00e9s, Manolo Tena, Juan Echanove, Miguel R\u00edos and Antonio Flores. With this album, he embarked on a tour of Spain and New York.<\/p>\n
