Hijo de Agust\u00edn Jim\u00e9nez Albo y de Carmen Sandoval, naci\u00f3 en la ciudad de Dolores Hidalgo, en el estado mexicano de Guanajuato, donde pas\u00f3 sus primeros a\u00f1os de vida, hasta poco despu\u00e9s de la muerte de su padre en 1936, quien era due\u00f1o de una farmacia denominada “San Vicente”. Jos\u00e9 Alfredo ten\u00eda tres hermanos: Concepci\u00f3n, V\u00edctor e Ignacio.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A los once a\u00f1os lleg\u00f3 a la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico donde desde adolescente empez\u00f3 a componer sus primeras canciones. Su madre abri\u00f3 una peque\u00f1a tienda que no prosper\u00f3, por lo que Jos\u00e9 Alfredo tuvo que contribuir a la econom\u00eda familiar y desempe\u00f1\u00f3 m\u00faltiples oficios, entre ellos, el de camarero; fue adem\u00e1s jugador de f\u00fatbol. Particip\u00f3 en los equipos Oviedo y Marte de la primera divisi\u00f3n de f\u00fatbol mexicano, en la posici\u00f3n de portero, llegando a coincidir como compa\u00f1ero de equipo con Antonio “La Tota” Carbajal. M\u00e1s tarde, fue miembro de un grupo llamado “Los Rebeldes”.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

El restaurante donde trabajaba, “La Sirena”, era frecuentado por Andr\u00e9s Huesca, quien escuch\u00f3 algunos de los temas del entonces joven cantautor, entre los cuales estaba “Cuando el destino” (canci\u00f3n en la que Jos\u00e9 Alfredo ten\u00eda mucha fe) y “Yo”; Huesca decide grabar esta \u00faltima inmediatamente y a ra\u00edz de ah\u00ed cant\u00f3 en 1948 por primera vez en la emisora de radio XEX-AM y meses despu\u00e9s en la XEW-AM, en la que se catapult\u00f3 a la fama. Se cas\u00f3 con Paloma G\u00e1lvez con quien tuvo dos hijos, Jos\u00e9 Alfredo y Paloma. Posteriormente, en la relaci\u00f3n que sostuvo con Mary Medel, tuvieron cuatro hijos, Guadalupe, Jos\u00e9 Antonio, Martha y Jos\u00e9 Alfredo.<\/p>\r\n

Son of Agust\u00edn Jim\u00e9nez Albo and Carmen Sandoval, he was born in the city of Dolores Hidalgo, in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, where he spent his first years of life, until shortly after the death of his father in 1936, who owned a pharmacy called “San Vicente”. Jos\u00e9 Alfredo had three brothers: Concepci\u00f3n, V\u00edctor and Ignacio.<\/p>\r\n

At the age of eleven he arrived in Mexico City where as a teenager he began to compose his first songs. His mother opened a small store that did not prosper, so Jos\u00e9 Alfredo had to contribute to the family economy and held multiple jobs, among them, that of a waiter; He was also a soccer player. He participated in the Oviedo and Marte teams of the first division of Mexican soccer, in the goalkeeper position, coming to coincide as a teammate with Antonio “La Tota” Carbajal. Later, he was a member of a group called “Los Rebeldes”.<\/p>\r\n

The restaurant where he worked, “La Sirena”, was frequented by Andr\u00e9s Huesca, who listened to some of the songs by the then young singer-songwriter, among which was “Cuando el Destino” (a song in which Jos\u00e9 Alfredo had a lot of faith) and “Yo “; Huesca decides to record the latter immediately and as a result he sang in 1948 for the first time on the XEX-AM radio station and months later on XEW-AM, where he catapulted to fame. He married Paloma G\u00e1lvez with whom he had two children, Jos\u00e9 Alfredo and Paloma. Later, in the relationship he had with Mary Medel, they had four children, Guadalupe, Jos\u00e9 Antonio, Martha and Jos\u00e9 Alfredo.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
