Gibson nació en la ciudad de Nueva York, hija de Frank W. Gibson y Elaine Coffin Gibson. Su padre era un experto en eficiencia y su madre era una sanadora autorizada por la Ciencia Cristiana. Asistió a Wadleigh High School for Girls en la ciudad de Nueva York.

Gibson fue vista en vodevil como parte de The Melody Charmers. Sus créditos en Broadway incluyen Jarnegan (1928) y When You Smile (1925). En 1955-56, se desempeñó como presidenta del Equity Library Theatre.

Biography and career

Gibson was born in New York City, the daughter of Frank W. Gibson and Elaine Coffin Gibson. His father was an expert in efficiency and his mother was a licensed Christian Science healer. She attended Wadleigh High School for Girls in New York City.

Gibson was seen in vaudeville as part of The Melody Charmers. His Broadway credits include Jarnegan (1928) and When You Smile (1925). In 1955-56, she served as president of the Equity Library Theater.

 

Early in his career, Gibson had a small role in a movie, but he had no special interest in appearing on camera. It was the stage that interested him and he began his career on stage in the choir and was soon playing the leads. He toured Europe, then returned to America and tried a dramatic role, but failed and returned to musical comedy. Paramount signed with her when it approaches the film more than the truth (1929), from its continued success in which some 50 films between 1929 and 1956, although many were films of series B.

 

Death

Gibson died in 1987 of a cerebral thrombosis in Laguna Niguel, California.
