ROBERT TAYLOR, Fue un actor de cine estadounidense, una de las grandes estrellas del cine de los años treinta, cuarenta y cincuenta, apodado «el hombre del perfil perfecto.

Era el único hijo de un granjero que trabajaba en el negocio de granos, pero cursó los estudios de Medicina con el fin de encontrar una cura para su esposa, una mujer con problemas de salud recurrentes.

Gran aficionado a la música, tocaba el chelo en la orquesta escolar de la Beatrice High School. De 1929 a 1931 asistió a Doane College, en Creta (Nebraska), donde como músico fue miembro del Cuarteto de Cuerdas Doane. Asimismo trabajó en KKMJ radio en Clay Center, como parte de un trío musical llamado “The Harmony Boys”. Como actor formó parte del grupo dramático Doane Players. Poseedor de una profunda voz, ganó varios concursos de oratoria.

En 1931 se mudó a Claremont, California y se matriculó en el Pomona College para estudiar medicina, donde se enroló en el grupo teatral universitario y participó en varias obras como La importancia de llamarse Ernesto y Camille.

Un cazatalentos de la MGM le descubre y el 6 de febrero de 1934 firma un contrato de siete años con MGM por U$S 35.00 a la semana trabajando en préstamo para la 20th Century Fox en un pequeño papel en la película Handy Andy.

En 1935 protagoniza junto a Irene Dunne Sublime obsesión, de John M. Stahl. El título fue un gran éxito de público y su actuación fue elogiada por la crítica. Rápidamente el departamento de publicidad de los estudios se dedica a promocionar al joven intérprete

ROBERT TAYLOR, He was an American film actor, one of the great movie stars of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, nicknamed “the man with the perfect profile.”

He was the only son of a farmer who worked in the grain business, but he studied medicine in order to find a cure for his wife, a woman with recurring health problems.

A great music lover, he played cello in the Beatrice High School orchestra. From 1929 to 1931 he attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska, where as a musician he was a member of the Doane String Quartet. He also worked on KKMJ radio at Clay Center, as part of a musical trio called “The Harmony Boys”. As an actor he was part of the drama group Doane Players. Possessing a deep voice, he won several public speaking competitions.

In 1931 he moved to Claremont, California and enrolled in Pomona College to study medicine, where he enrolled in the university theater group and participated in several plays such as The Importance of Being Ernesto and Camille.

An MGM scout discovers him and on February 6, 1934, he signs a seven-year contract with MGM for $ 35.00 a week working on loan to 20th Century Fox in a small role in the movie Handy Andy.

In 1935 he starred with Irene Dunne Sublime obsession, by John M. Stahl. The title was a great success with the public and his performance was praised by critics. Quickly the publicity department of the studios is dedicated to promoting the young performer.
