ROBERT CUMMINGS (10 de junio de 1908 – 2 de diciembre de 1990), también conocido como Bob Cummings, fue un actor cinematográfico y televisivo estadounidense, conocido por su aspecto juvenil, incluso cuando ya era mayor.
Cummings trabajó principalmente en papeles cómicos, pero fue eficaz en los pocos dramas que rodó, especialmente en dos títulos de Alfred Hitchcock, Saboteur (Sabotaje) y Dial M for Murder (Crimen perfecto).

He had a brief theatrical run on Broadway under the stage name Blade Stanhope Conway, a supposed Englishman, before moving to Hollywood, California, where he initially performed as the fictional persona of Bruce Hutchens, a wealthy Texan.
In the 1930s Cummings worked (under his real name) under contract and acted in various minor roles. She achieved stardom in 1939 in Three Smart Girls Grow Up opposite Deanna Durbin. His many comedies include: The Devil and Miss Jones (1941), with Jean Arthur, and The Bride Wore Boots (1946), opposite Barbara Stanwyck. Cummings had memorable performances in three major dramas: Kings Row (1942), with his friend Ronald Reagan; Saboteur (Sabotage) (1942), with Priscilla Lane and Norman Lloyd; and Dial M for Murder (1954), with Grace Kelly and Ray Milland.
Cummings was cast by producer John Wayne as a co-star in the role of pilot Captain Sullivan on The High and the Mighty, in part due to Cummings’ experience as a pilot. But director William A. Wellman overruled Wayne and cast Robert Stack for the role.
Cummings also worked on the CBS Radio series Those We Love. On the show, which ran from 1938 to 1945, Cummings played David Adair, opposite Richard Cromwell, Francis X. Bushman and Nan Gray.
In 1952 he began a long television career with the comedy My Hero. He was part of the cast of the first TV performance of Twelve Angry Men, a live production broadcast in 1954, in which his portrayal of «Jury Number Eight» was awarded an Emmy. From 1955 to 1959, Cummings starred in the famous show The Bob Cummings Show, replaced by The New Bob Cummings Show between 1961 and 1962. He also did a season of My Living Doll (1964), another sitcom. His last major job was in the 1973 TV movie Partners in Crime, opposite Lee Grant.
During World War II Cummings served at the base in Oxnard, California, and later was a pilot in the United States Reserve Force.
Death
Cummings died of kidney failure in 1990 at the age of 82 and was buried in the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California.
