RENÉE ADORÉE (30 de septiembre de 1898 – 5 de octubre de 1933) fue una actriz francesa que actuó en el cine mudo de Hollywood en la década de 1920.

Su verdadero nombre era Jeanne de La Fonte, nació en Lille, Departamento Norte, Francia. Era hija de artistas circenses, a los cinco años de edad actuaba en el circo con sus padres. En su adolescencia empezó a trabajar en pequeñas producciones teatrales y viajó por Europa con su compañía. Estaba representando en Rusia cuando se desencadenó la Primera Guerra Mundial y tuvo que huir a Londres.
Desde Londres viajó a Nueva York, donde siguió trabajando en el teatro hasta que le llegó la oportunidad de actuar en el cine.
En 1920, con el exótico nombre de Renée Adorée («Renacida» y «Adorada», todo en francés) dado por el estudio, actuó por primera vez en el cine. Her real name was Jeanne de La Fonte, she was born in Lille, North Department, France. She was the daughter of circus artists, at the age of five she acted in the circus with her parents. In his teens he began to work in small theatrical productions and traveled around Europe with his company. He was performing in Russia when World War I broke out and had to flee to London.
From London he traveled to New York, where he continued working in the theater until the opportunity to act in the cinema came to him.
In 1920, with the exotic name of Renée Adorée («Reborn» and «Adored», all in French) given by the studio, she acted for the first time in the cinema. Finding himself in New York on New Years Eve 1921, he met Thomas J. Moore (1883-1955). Fifteen years her senior, Tom Moore and his brothers were successful actors in Hollywood. Within six weeks of meeting they were married in Beverly Hills, California. The marriage did not last, in 1925 Adorée married Sherman Gill.
Despite her small stature, Renée Adorée’s sensual beauty and piercing eyes made her irresistible on screen. She is most famous for her role as «Melisande» in the melodrama The Great Parade (1925), which was one of MGM’s biggest hits and a film that historians rank as one of the best of the silent era. Starring alongside John Gilbert, The Big Parade is still replayed today on television, and available on video. In The Mating Call, a 1928 film produced by Howard Hughes, Adorée caused a stir by starring in a brief nude scene.
With the advent of talkies, Renée Adorée was one of the lucky ones whose voice overcame the change quite well. He worked alongside Lon Chaney and his former brother-in-law Owen Moore, made three more titles with John Gilbert, and starred in four films with another of Hollywood’s stars, Ramón Novarro.
