PRISCILLA BONNER (17 de febrero de 1899 – 21 de febrero de 1996) fue una actriz cinematográfica estadounidense, activa en la época del cine mudo.
Biografía y carrera
Nacida en Washington D. C., su padre, John S. Bonner, era miembro del ejército, por lo que debían vivir en diferentes lugares. Para entretenerse, ella a menudo se dedicaba a actuar, haciendo diferentes papeles y cambiando decorados.
Estando su padre destinado en Chicago, en la plana del General Leonard Wood, ella recibió una llamada de una persona relacionada con la revista Photoplay, que insistía en que ella fuera al estudio a hacerse unas fotografías. Aunque la llamada era probablemente equivocada, Bonner aprovechó la ocasión para hacerse allí una foto. Intrigados por su atrevida iniciativa y por su fotogenia, el estudio le hizo varios retratos y los remitió a compañías cinematográficas de California.
Sus padres le permitieron viajar a Los Ángeles, donde conoció al actor Charles Ray, debutando en el cine en 1920 con el film Homer Comes Home, tras haber sido contratada por MGM ese mismo año.
También en 1920, ella fue coprotagonista, junto a Jack Pickford, de The Man Who Had Everything (1920). Más adelante actuó junto a Lon Chaney en Shadows (1922), con Colleen Moore en April Showers, y con el comediante Harry Langdon en The Strong Man. En 1925 demandó con éxito a Warner Bros., y ganó una considerable indemnización, cuando fue originalmente elegida, y después despedida, para ser primera actriz, junto a John Barrymore, de The Sea Beast, decisión que favoreció a la actriz Dolores Costello, pareja sentimental de Barrymore en la vida real.
Ese mismo año trabajó en la controvertida cinta independiente The Red Kimono producida y dirigida por Dorothy Davenport, viuda de Wallace Reid. En 1927, Bonner fue cedida a Paramount Pictures para actuar en el éxito It, protagonizado por Clara Bow.

Born in Washington, DC, her father, John S. Bonner, was a member of the military, so they had to live in different places. For entertainment, she often took up acting, playing different roles and changing sets.
While her father was stationed in Chicago, at General Leonard Wood’s flat, she received a call from a person related to Photoplay magazine, who insisted that she go to the studio to take some pictures. Although the call was probably wrong, Bonner took the opportunity to take a photo there. Intrigued by his daring initiative and his photography, the studio took several portraits of him and submitted them to California film companies.
Her parents allowed her to travel to Los Angeles, where she met actor Charles Ray, making her film debut in 1920 with the film Homer Comes Home, after being hired by MGM that same year. Also in 1920, she co-starred with Jack Pickford in The Man Who Had Everything (1920). He later starred alongside Lon Chaney in Shadows (1922), with Colleen Moore in April Showers, and with comedian Harry Langdon in The Strong Man. In 1925 he successfully sued Warner Bros., and won considerable compensation, when he was originally chosen, and later fired, to be the lead actress, along with John Barrymore, of The Sea Beast, a decision that favored actress Dolores Costello, Barrymore’s sentimental partner in real life.
That same year he worked on the controversial independent film The Red Kimono produced and directed by Dorothy Davenport, the widow of Wallace Reid. In 1927, Bonner was loaned to Paramount Pictures to star in the hit It, starring Clara Bow.
Death
Priscilla Bonner passed away in 1996 in Los Angeles, California. She was 97. She was buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hollywood Hills.
