MARIANNE HOPPE (26 de abril de 1909, Rostock – 23 de octubre de 2002, Siegsdorf, Traunstein, Baviera) fue una actriz de cine y teatro alemana.
Biografía y carrera
Nacida en Rostock, perteneció a una familia aristocrática. La educaron institurices y maestros privados en las posesiones de su padre, posteriormente estudió en Berlín y en Weimar. A los 17 años debutó en el Deutsches Theater berlinés dirigida por Max Reinhardt.
Su actuación en la película Der Schimmelreiter (1933) la convirtió en una estrella gracias a sus facciones arias, Hoppe fue a partir de entonces el modelo ideal para los nazis.
Cuatro años después de separarse de Gründjens, triunfó como Blanche Dubois en Un tranvía llamado Deseo de Tennessee Williams‘, dedicándose al teatro de vanguardia de Heiner Muller (Quartett, 1994) y Thomas Bernhard, quien se convirtió en su pareja.
Muerte
Murió de causas naturales a los 93 años en Siegsdorf, Baviera.

Biography and career
Born in Rostock, she belonged to an aristocratic family. She was educated by institutes and private teachers on her father’s estates, later she studied in Berlin and Weimar. At the age of 17 he made his debut at the Berlin Deutsches Theater directed by Max Reinhardt.
Her performance in the film Der Schimmelreiter (1933) made her a star thanks to her Aryan features, Hoppe was from then on the ideal role model for the Nazis.
Four years after parting ways with Gründjens, she triumphed as Blanche Dubois in Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, dedicating herself to the avant-garde theater of Heiner Muller (Quartett, 1994) and Thomas Bernhard, who became her partner.
Death
He died of natural causes at the age of 93 in Siegsdorf, Bavaria.
