LYNN BARI (nacida como Margaret Schuyler Fisher, 18 de diciembre de 1919 – 20 de noviembre de 1989) fue una actriz de cine que se especializó en interpretar a asesinos de hombres esculturales y sensuales en aproximadamente 150 películas para 20th Century Fox desde principios de la década de 1930 hasta la de 1940.

LYNN BARI (born Margaret Schuyler Fisher, December 18, 1919 – November 20, 1989) was a film actress who specialized in portraying sensual, statuesque male killers in approximately 150 films for 20th Century Fox since the early 1900s. 1930s to 1940s.

Bari was born in 1919 in Roanoke, Virginia to John Maynard Fisher, a native of Tennessee, and his wife Marjorie Halpen of New York. In most of his early films, Bari had uncredited roles that generally played receptionists or showgirls. He struggled to find leading roles in movies. Rare lead roles included China Girl (1942), Hello, Frisco, Hello (1943), and The Spiritualist (1948). In B movies, Bari was often portrayed as a «man-killer», as in Orchestra Wives (1942), or a villain, particularly Shock and Nocturne (both from 1946). An exception was the dramatic protagonist of El Puente de San Luis Rey (1944). During World War II, according to a survey of soldiers, Bari was the second most popular model girl after the much better known Betty Grable.

 

 

Bari’s last film appearance was as the mother of rebellious teenager Patty McCormack in The Young Runaways (1968).

 

It quickly took over the emerging medium of television during the 1950s; starred in the live television comedy Detective’s Wife, which aired during the summer of 1950. In 1952, Bari starred in his own comedy Boss Lady, a summer replacement for NBC’s Fireside Theater. She played Gwen F. Allen, the beautiful top executive of a construction company. Her last television appearances were in episodes of The Girl From UNCLE and The FBI.

 

 

On November 20, 1989, Bari was found dead in her home of an apparent heart attack. She was cremated and her ashes scattered in the sea.
