LUIS ALBERNI, Fue un actor de origen español, nacionalizado estadounidense, nacido en Barcelona

Instalado en los Estados Unidos en 1914, Luis Alberni debutó el año siguiente (1915) en el teatro en Broadway (Nueva York), en donde actuó hasta 1928, en once obras, dos comedias musicales, una opereta y una ópera.

En el cine, colaboró en nueve películas mudas desde 1915 hasta 1926 después, tras la llegada del cine sonoro, en ciento sesenta y cinco películas estadounidenses, entre 1929 y 1956 (con un pequeño papel no acreditado en Los diez mandamientos), a menudo en papeles secundarios caracterizando a hispanos o italianos.

Destacando su contribución menor en dos películas de John Ford, When Willie Comes Marching Home en 1950, y después What Price Glory en 1952 (segunda adaptación cinematográfica de la obra de teatro del mismo nombre, en cuya creación Luis Alberni había contribuido, en 1924 en Broadway : ver el apartado «Teatro» que sigue).

Installed in the United States in 1914, Luis Alberni made his debut the following year (1915) at the theater on Broadway (New York), where he acted until 1928, in eleven plays, two musical comedies, an operetta and an opera.

In the cinema, he collaborated on nine silent films from 1915 to 1926 then, after the advent of the talkies, in one hundred and sixty-five American films, between 1929 and 1956 (with a small unacredited role in The Ten Commandments), often in secondary roles characterizing Hispanics or Italians.

Highlighting his minor contribution in two John Ford films, When Willie Comes Marching Home in 1950, and then What Price Glory in 1952 (second film adaptation of the play of the same name, in whose creation Luis Alberni had contributed, in 1924 in Broadway: see the section «Theater» that follows).
