JOSEPHINE «JOAN» DAVIS (29 de junio de 1907 – 23 de mayo de 1961) fue una actriz cómica estadounidense cuya carrera abarcó el vodevil , el cine, la radio y la televisión. Mejor recordada por la comedia de televisión de la década de 1950 I Married Joan , Davis tuvo una exitosa carrera anterior como actriz de películas B y estrella principal de la comedia de radio de la década de 1940.

Nacida en Saint Paul, Minnesota, era la única hija de LeRoy Davis y Nina Mae (de soltera Sinks) Davis, quienes se casaron en St. Paul el 23 de noviembre de 1910.
La primera película de Davis fue un tema corto para Educational Pictures titulado Way Up Thar (1935), con un entonces desconocido Roy Rogers. Quizás mejor conocida por su papel coprotagonista con Bud Abbott y Lou Costello en Hold That Ghost (1941), tenía una reputación de comedia física impecable.
Joan Davis ingresó a la radio con una aparición el 28 de agosto de 1941 en The Rudy Vallee Show y se convirtió en un habitual en ese programa cuatro meses después. Death
On May 23, 1961, Davis died of a heart attack at the age of 53 at his home in Palm Springs, California. She was buried in the Mausoleum of the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California.
