In 2010 she began dating soccer player Matthew Mills; however, the relationship ended nine months later.
On October 3, 2005, she joined the main cast of the hit British series Hollyoaks, where she played Hannah Ashworth, until February 12, 2010. Emma had initially announced her departure from the series in June 2009; However, she renewed her contract for a further six months and her last appearance was in 2010. In 2008 she appeared as the host of The Race Against Cancer. In 2009, she played Hannah again, this time in the series’ spin-off called Hollyoaks Later.
