Nacida Elizabeth Ellen Gillease en Jersey City, Nueva Jersey, comenzó su carrera como una modelo de la agencia Ford antes de tener un papel en televisión en The Jackie Gleason Show en 1950. Elizabeth hizo numerosas apariciones en televisión como papeles de invitada en programas como The Fugitive, Kojak y Buck Rogers. También fue miembro del reparto regular en The Paul Lynde Show, C.P.O. Sharkey, Another World y su spin-off, Texas. Su carrera en televisión, películas y en teatro se extendió por tres décadas.
La actriz de gélido atractivo es quizás más conocida por su papel en televisión como la vendedora espeluznante en el primer episodio de la temporada de The Twilight Zone, titulado «The After Hours», donde la actriz Anne Francis (interpretando a ‘Marsha White’) finalmente se da cuenta de que es un maniquí y que su mes de libertad y de vida entre los seres humanos se ha terminado.

Elizabeth made numerous television appearances as guest roles on such shows as The Fugitive, Kojak and Buck Rogers. He was also a regular cast member on The Paul Lynde Show, C.P.O. Sharkey, Another World and its spin-off, Texas. His career in television, movies and on stage spanned three decades.
The icy-appealing actress is perhaps best known for her television role as the creepy saleswoman in the first season episode of The Twilight Zone, titled «The After Hours,» where actress Anne Francis (playing ‘Marsha White’) he finally realizes that he is a mannequin and that his month of freedom and life among human beings is over.
In 1963, Elizabeth starred with John Wayne, Dorothy Lamour and Lee Marvin in the John Ford film Donovan’s Reef. He also starred in Diamond Head with Charlton Heston and Yvette Mimieux. Both films were filmed in Hawaii. Allen also appeared with James Stewart in Cheyenne Autumn, and won a 1963 Laurel Award for Promising Actress of the Year.
She was twice nominated for a Tony Award for her Broadway performances in The Gay Life and Do I Hear a Waltz?.
Allen quietly retired from show business in 1996, after touring numerous cities around the world for more than a decade with his role on Broadway’s 42nd Street.
