ELGA ANDERSEN (fue una actriz y cantante alemana)

ELGA ANDERSEN ( de soltera Helga Hymen o Hymmen: 2 de febrero de 1935 – 7 de diciembre de 1994) fue una actriz y cantante alemana. Protagonizó más de una docena de películas francesas en las décadas de 1950 y 1960 y también debutó como artista discográfica en la década de 1950.

Biografía y carrera
Nació Helga Hymen (o Hymmen ) en Dortmund , Alemania. Ella era la única hija de sus padres; su padre era ingeniero civil. Hizo su debut actoral en Les Collegiennes , una película francesa de 1957 dirigida por André Hunebelle , bajo el nombre de Elga Hymen.

Otto Preminger la seleccionó para un pequeño papel en su película Bonjour Tristesse en 1958 y le dio el nombre artístico de «Elga Andersen». Su primer papel protagónico fue en 1960 en Brazilian Rhapsody . En la década de 1970 apareció en muchas producciones predominantemente europeas. Sus producciones estadounidenses incluyeron A Global Affair (1964), protagonizada por Bob Hope , y Le Mans (1971), en la que actuó junto a Steve McQueen. Biography and career
Helga Hymen (or Hymmen) was born in Dortmund, Germany. She was the only child of her parents; his father was a civil engineer. She made her acting debut in Les Collegiennes, a 1957 French film directed by André Hunebelle, under the name Elga Hymen.

Otto Preminger cast her in a small role in his film Bonjour Tristesse in 1958 and gave her the stage name «Elga Andersen». His first leading role was in 1960 in Brazilian Rhapsody. In the 1970s he appeared in many predominantly European productions. His American productions included A Global Affair (1964), starring Bob Hope, and Le Mans (1971), in which he starred opposite Steve McQueen. Andersen and McQueen reportedly had an affair during filming. One of the Porsche 911S sports coupes used in the production was given to Andersen as partial compensation for his work on the film.

Andersen died of cancer on December 7, 1994. In 1995, his ashes and those of Gimbel, who had died in 1987, were buried on the Andrea Doria during a diving expedition.
