DAVID MCCALLUM (es un actor británico)

Biografía: es un prolífico actor británico e hijo de un concertino, David McCallum, Sr. Es más conocido por su papel como Illya Kuryakin, un agente ruso en la popular serie de los sesenta The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (El Agente de C.I.P.O.L. en su versión en castellano), y por su papel del doctor Donald «Ducky» Mallard en NCIS.

Nació en Glasgow, Escocia, siendo el segundo de dos hijos. Empezó su carrera como actor con pequeños papeles en las películas británicas de los cincuenta. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (El Agente de C.I.P.O.L.), previsto para el lucimiento de Robert Vaughn, imprevisiblemente convirtió a McCallum en un sex symbol, su corte de pelo al estilo Beatle rubio, daba un toque moderno que contrastaba con la apariencia más tradicional de Vaughn. Bio: He is a prolific British actor and the son of a concertmaster, David McCallum, Sr. He is best known for his role as Illya Kuryakin, a Russian actor on the popular 1960s series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the second of two children. He began his acting career with small roles in British films of the 1950s. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (The C.I.P.O.L. Agent), intended to be worn by Robert Vaughn, unpredictably turned McCallum into a sex symbol, his blond Beatle haircut, giving a modern twist that contrasted with Vaughn’s more traditional appearance. The adoration of the character led to the recording of a song, Love Ya, Ilya, performed by Alma Cogan under the name «Angela and the Fans» («I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish that Ilya loved me «), which was an unconventional radio hit in Britain in 1966.

Although McCallum became a familiar face on television, he never reached the same level of popularity as with his role as Kuryakin. According to the additional scenes that appear on the 2006 DVD of season 1, McCallum decides to become a forensic expert to better interpret his role as Doctor «Ducky» («Duckling») Mallard; it even appears at medical examiner conventions. Donald P. Bellisario said McCallum’s knowledge was so extensive that (at the time of the interview) he seriously considered making him a technical advisor for the series.
