The holiday season is here again, and it’s time to binge our favorite Christmas horror movies. Nothing compares to browsing our shelves searching for the ideal film, but there are also some excellent streaming choices. And it’s no secret that Tubi has been a favorite platform for horror fans, as it’s free and has some solid content, both new and old.
Sadly (for us), we are not collaborating with the service to offer you this list; we’re simply fans. So, light the tree, pour the eggnog, and stream one (or all) of these Christmas horror movies on Tubi. For free!
Black Christmas (1974)
Bob Clark directed two of the most memorable Christmas films of all time: Black Christmas (1974) and A Christmas Story (1983). For many, both are must-watch films over the holiday season and with good cause. Black Christmas has inspired numerous slashers throughout the years, beginning with John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978).
Based on the urban legend “The Babysitter,” the film follows a sorority house that starts receiving unsettling phone calls. Little do the sisters know that “the call is coming from inside the house,” and a disturbing man is targeting them. Aside from the effective horror, the movie tackles real-world issues facing the women, which adds to the already heavy plot.
The film stars Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, Margot Kidder, and John Saxon.
Black Christmas (2006)
If you want a more modern version, the 2006 loose remake of Black Christmas is also available on Tubi. Glen Morgan wrote and directed it with a stellar female cast that includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lacey Chabert, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Katie Cassidy. Although the film maintains the same overall plot as the first, it delves into the killer’s past and introduces a new villain.

Unfortunately, the talent could not save the film from being panned by critics and moviegoers, who were mostly disappointed with the revamped story. Still, it may be worth seeing just for the cast.
Better Watch Out (2016)
Better Watch Out, co-written and directed by Chris Peckover, is a unique take on a home invasion film. It stars Olivia DeJonge as Ashley, a babysitter watching a boy named Luke (Levi Miller). But during the evening, things take unexpected turns, and someone appears to be lurking around the house.
It’s best to avoid spoilers, but this violently entertaining slasher is one of the worthy Christmas horror movies on Tubi.
Jack Frost (1997)
Not to be mistaken with the 1998 family film of the same name, Michael Cooney’s Jack Frost is the most bizarre inclusion on this list. We can’t help but love it.
The sheriff of the quaint town of Snowmonton (yes, really) apprehends an elusive serial killer named Jack Frost (yes, really, again). However, on the way to his execution, the transport van has a collision with a chemical truck, which exposes Jack and dissolves his body in the snow. However, he does not let that deter him from doing what he loves.
Jack goes on a killing spree as a snowman to get vengeance on the sheriff and Snowmonton residents. Memorable kills and one-liners make this a zany, must-watch Christmas horror movie.
Anna and the Apocalypse (2017)
If Shaun of the Dead had been a musical, it would be Anna and the Apocalypse. When a zombie outbreak sweeps through the Scottish community of Little Haven, residents, including teenager Anna (Ella Hunt), must fight for survival. While evading zombies, the cast breaks into catchy song and dance sequences.
The film boasts an excellent ensemble of characters and hilariously imaginative kills reminiscent of Dead Rising.
Christmas Evil (1980)
This 1980 slasher follows Harry Stadling (Brandon Maggart), who is obsessed with Christmas despite (or perhaps because of) childhood tragedy. As an adult, he works on the floor of a toy factory, where he is not well respected. As tension rises and his fixation with being Santa grows, Harry embarks on a Christmas killing spree.

This is perhaps the darkest entry on the list. As you stream Christmas horror movies on Tubi, it shouldn’t be missed.
P2 (2007)
P2 follows a Manhattan officer worker (Rachel Nichols) whose car won’t start after working late on Christmas Eve. The night turns into a terrifying fight for survival when she discovers it was sabotaged by a demented security guard (Wes Bentley). Obsessed with her, he refuses to let her go from an underground parking garage.
Alexandre Aja (High Tension) produced and co-wrote P2, which Franck Khalfoun directed. It is an intense and brutal thriller that will change how you listen to “Blue Christmas” by Elvis Presley.
