Destacado periodista y ministro de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. Aprendi\u00f3 sus primeras letras con una famosa profesora, que m\u00e1s tarde personific\u00f3 en su obra La Maestra Escol\u00e1stica. Se gradu\u00f3 de bachiller en filosof\u00eda en la Universidad Nacional de Tegucigalpa. Realiz\u00f3 estudios universitarios en Guatemala y, al triunfar la reforma liberal en ese pa\u00eds, en 1871, ocup\u00f3 el puesto de subdirector de Hacienda y luego la Secretar\u00eda de Relaciones Exteriores.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div>Fue cofundador del peri\u00f3dico El Centroamericano.
