La letra menciona: \u201cRoll over Beethoven and tell Tchaikovsky the news\u201d \u2013 en referencia a c\u00f3mo los compositores cl\u00e1sicos se deb\u00edan estar revolcando en sus tumbas al escuchar que la m\u00fasica cl\u00e1sica hab\u00eda dado paso al Rock and Roll.<\/p>\n

Chuck Berry recorded \u201cRoll Over Beethoven\u201d which was released by Chess Records the following month. Berry is said tohave written the song in protest of his sister Lucy always using the family piano to play classical music when he wanted to play pop music. The lyrics mention: \u201cRoll over Beethoven and tell Tchaikovsky the news\u201d \u2013 in reference to how the Classical composers must have been rolling in their graves upon hearing that classical music had given way to Rock and Roll.<\/p>\n
