Casada en los primeros a\u00f1os de la d\u00e9cada de los a\u00f1os 70 con el atleta Ignacio G\u00f3mez Pellico, tuvo una hija, Ivana Vanessa. Se divorciaron poco tiempo despu\u00e9s. M\u00e1s tarde empez\u00f3 una relaci\u00f3n con el empresario Claudio Rey, con el que lleva unida m\u00e1s de treinta a\u00f1os. Paloma es un ejemplo de saber separar la vida personal de la profesional. Nunca habla apenas de su vida privada; los periodistas la respetan enormemente. Con ellos mantiene una estupenda relaci\u00f3n que, incluso se plasm\u00f3 en la entrega que le dieron del Premio Naranja a principios de los a\u00f1os 80, siendo este premio el que concede la prensa a los personajes que mejor les han tratado.<\/div>\n

Paloma San Basilio nace en Madrid, vive su infancia en Sevilla y su adolescencia en Lugo. Estudi\u00f3 en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid unos a\u00f1os de Filosof\u00eda y Letras y Psicolog\u00eda antes de dar comienzo a su carrera art\u00edstica en 1975.<\/div>\n

Durante los primeros a\u00f1os setenta es presentadora del programa de televisi\u00f3n Siempre en domingo y actriz en el programa de zarzuelas Divertido siglo. Es en 1975 cuando graba su primer disco, Sombras, con amplia repercusi\u00f3n internacional, donde incluye temas compuestos para ella, as\u00ed como versiones de cl\u00e1sicos como “The Way We Were”, “The Long And Winding Road” o “Feelings”. Su siguiente trabajo D\u00f3nde vas, de 1977, incluye temas m\u00e1s movidos compuestos, entre otros, por Bebu Silvetti, as\u00ed como baladas tales como la que da el t\u00edtulo al disco y que fue pre-seleccionada para representar a Espa\u00f1a en Eurovisi\u00f3n en el a\u00f1o 1977, y consolida su fama en Hispanoam\u00e9rica. Sus influencias son muy variadas: desde artistas como The Beatles, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holliday o Barbra Streisand a artistas que por su estancia en Sevilla, escuchaba a menudo, tales como Lola Flores o Gracia Montes. Ello ocasion\u00f3 que no se la pueda encasillar en ning\u00fan g\u00e9nero, pues con habilidad domina varios.<\/div>\n
