La orquesta fue fundada por Renato Capriles, su actual Director, el 15 de Julio de 1958. Su slogan es “La orquesta que impone el ritmo en Venezuela”, siendo tambi\u00e9n llamada en el exterior LA ORQUESTA MAS COMPLETA DE AMERICA LATINA y por varios a\u00f1os ahora LA BIG BAND DEL NUEVO MILENIO, no s\u00f3lo por su constituci\u00f3n, ya que presenta 20 artistas en escena: 4 saxos, 3 trombones, 3 trompetas, 5 de ritmo y 4 cantantes (siempre con una figura femenina) y su Director, sino por ser la \u00fanica orquesta latina que tiene el m\u00e1s extenso repertorio de todas las tendencias y estilos musicales que han existido y existen en el mundo.<\/p>\n

Ha obtenido los m\u00e1s importantes premios de Venezuela . En muchos de los pa\u00edses visitados han salido al mercado disquero m\u00e1s de 50 CDs, como es el caso de Colombia y USA , y en Venezuela se han editado 99 LPs., siendo \u00e9ste un r\u00e9cord mundial en lo que a orquestas de baile se refiere.<\/p>\n

LOS MEL\u00d3DICOS acaban de lanzar su producci\u00f3n discogr\u00e1fica N\u00ba 100, sin contar recopilatorios o reediciones de todos sus \u00e9xitos, cifra no alcanzada por ninguna otra orquesta de baile en Am\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n

The orchestra was founded by Renato Capriles, its current Director, on July 15, 1958. Its slogan is “The orchestra that imposes rhythm in Venezuela”, also being called abroad THE MOST COMPLETE ORCHESTRA IN LATIN AMERICA and for several years now THE BIG BAND OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM, not only because of its constitution, since it presents 20 artists on stage: 4 saxophones, 3 trombones, 3 trumpets, 5 rhythm and 4 singers (always with a female figure) and its Director, but also because to be the only Latin orchestra that has the most extensive repertoire of all musical trends and styles that have existed and exist in the world.<\/p>\n

He has obtained the most important prizes in Venezuela. In many of the countries visited, more than 50 CDs have been released, as is the case in Colombia and the USA, and in Venezuela 99 LPs have been released, this being a world record for dance bands.<\/p>\n

LOS MELODICOS have just released their 100th record production, not counting compilations or reissues of all their hits, a figure not reached by any other dance band in America.<\/p>\n
