Nacido en el seno de una familia de origen irland\u00e9s en Burnley, Inglaterra, O\u2019Malley inici\u00f3 su carrera art\u00edstica en 1925 como cantante, actuando con Jack Hylton y su orquesta en el Reino Unido entre 1930 y 1933. Conocido entonces como Pat O’Malley, grab\u00f3 m\u00e1s de cuatrocientas canciones populares en la \u00e9poca. En 1930 cant\u00f3 Amy, Wonderful Amy, una canci\u00f3n dedicada a la aviadora Amy Johnson e interpretada con la banda de Jack Hylton. En 1935 inici\u00f3 una carrera en solitario, que compaginaba con su trabajo con Hylton.<\/div>\n

Born into a family of Irish origin in Burnley, England, O’Malley began his artistic career in 1925 as a singer, performing with Jack Hylton and his orchestra in the United Kingdom between 1930 and 1933. Known then as Pat O’Malley , recorded more than four hundred popular songs at the time. In 1930 he sang Amy, Wonderful Amy, a song dedicated to aviator Amy Johnson and performed with Jack Hylton’s band. In 1935 he began a solo career, which he combined with his work with Hylton.<\/div>\n

In late 1935 Hylton and O’Malley traveled to the United States to record with a band made up of American musicians, thus emulating Ray Noble and Al Bowlly. The project was short-lived, and O’Malley remained in the United States, becoming known professionally as J. Pat O’Malley (to avoid confusion with actor Pat O’Malley).<\/div>\n
