Manuel Jos\u00e9 Galv\u00e1n, conocido art\u00edsticamente como Manolo Galv\u00e1n, fue un cantautor espa\u00f1ol de baladas rom\u00e1nticas. nace en Crevillente (Crevillent), Provincia de Alicante; 13 de marzo de 1946. Su padre, Guillermo Galv\u00e1n y su madre, Olvido. A la edad de 15 a\u00f1os comenz\u00f3 a cantar en contra de la voluntad de su familia. Abandon\u00f3 sus estudios y se traslad\u00f3 a Madrid, donde se integr\u00f3 en un grupo llamado Sonors. M\u00e1s tarde lo abandon\u00f3 para iniciar una carrera solista, pero al no lograrlo se traslad\u00f3 a M\u00e1laga, para formar parte de Los Gritos, con quienes estuvo durante tres a\u00f1os. Sus \u00e9xitos de esta \u00e9poca son \u00abLa vida sigue igual\u00bb, \u00abSentado en la estaci\u00f3n\u00bb, \u00abAdi\u00f3s verano, adi\u00f3s amor\u00bb, \u00abLamento\u00bb (o \u00abEl lamento de tu voz\u00bb). En 1969 participa en la pel\u00edcula “Made in Spain” junto a Paco Mart\u00ednez Soria, en la que interpretan la canci\u00f3n “Veo visiones”. En 1970 el grupo desaparece al reconvertirse en La Zarzamora.<\/div>\n

En 1970 logr\u00f3 comenzar su carrera como solista. La gran mayor\u00eda de las letras de sus canciones, much\u00edsimas de ellas con gran \u00e9xito en solitario, eran de autor\u00eda de uno de sus hermanos mayores, Juan Ignacio Galv\u00e1n. En 1972 realiz\u00f3 una gira por Latinoam\u00e9rica, teniendo gran repercusi\u00f3n en Argentina su tema \u00ab\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 te quiero tanto?\u00bb. En 1973 se instala en Buenos Aires, radic\u00e1ndose definitivamente en la Argentina en 1981. Realiz\u00f3 varias presentaciones con la cantante argentina Tormenta, grabando un par de sencillos a d\u00fao con ella.<\/div>\n

Triunf\u00f3 en festivales en Espa\u00f1a y particip\u00f3 varias veces en el Festival Internacional de la Canci\u00f3n de Vi\u00f1a del Mar, lo que hizo que gozara de gran popularidad en Chile, inclusive grabando una canci\u00f3n dedicada a esta ciudad-balneario, lugar donde a\u00fan se realiza este certamen art\u00edstico.<\/div>\n

En el a\u00f1o 2006 Galv\u00e1n inici\u00f3 su despedida de los escenarios, despu\u00e9s de 40 a\u00f1os de carrera. Su \u00faltimo domicilio fue en Bella Vista, ciudad ubicada en el oeste del Gran Buenos Aires. Su \u00faltima presentaci\u00f3n en Colombia, la hizo al lado de otras grandes figuras de la canci\u00f3n mel\u00f3dica, a saber: Rudy M\u00e1rquez (Venezuela), Nemessio (Colombia), Palito Ortega (Argentina), Vicky (Colombia), Lucho Mu\u00f1oz (Chile) y \u00d3scar Golden (Colombia), el 3 de febrero de 2008 en el Diamante de Baseball, de Santiago de Cali.<\/div>\n

Muri\u00f3 el mi\u00e9rcoles 15 de mayo de 2013, a los 67 a\u00f1os de edad a causa de un enfisema pulmonar, en un sanatorio de la citada localidad de Bella Vista, en las afueras de Buenos Aires.5 De acuerdo a su voluntad, sus cenizas fueron esparcidas en el mar.<\/div>\n

Manuel Jos\u00e9 Galv\u00e1n, artistically known as Manolo Galv\u00e1n, was a Spanish singer-songwriter of romantic ballads. born in Crevillente (Crevillent), Province of Alicante; March 13, 1946.
