Jos\u00e9 Antonio Labordeta nace en Zaragoza, fue un cantautor, escritor, pol\u00edtico y profesor espa\u00f1ol. Hijo de Miguel Labordeta y Sara Sub\u00edas, es el cuarto de cinco hermanos, entre los que se encuentra el gran poeta Miguel Labordeta, cuya influencia vital e intelectual estar\u00e1 muy presente a lo largo de toda su vida.<\/div>\n

Cursa sus estudios primarios en el Colegio Alem\u00e1n de Zaragoza y en el Colegio Santo Tom\u00e1s de Aquino, propiedad de la familia Labordeta, y al concluir el Bachillerato se matricula en Derecho, carrera que abandona dos cursos despu\u00e9s y se matricula en Filosof\u00eda y Letras, donde se licencia en 1960. Durante unos meses se instala en Aix-en-Provence, en cuya universidad ejerce como lector. Durante sus a\u00f1os universitarios Jos\u00e9 Antonio despliega una gran actividad literaria: funda la revista Orejud\u00edn y publica en Papageno, revistas creadas al amparo de la tertulia Nik\u00e9 y de la OPI (Oficina Po\u00e9tica Internacional).<\/div>\n

En 1959 publica su primer poemario, titulado Sucede el pensamiento. Ser\u00e1 el primero de una larga lista de libros de poemas, memorias, novelas y viajes que publicar\u00e1 a lo largo de toda su vida. El 29 de septiembre de 1964 se casa con Juana de Grandes, con quien tendr\u00e1 tres hijas, Ana, \u00c1ngela y Paula, y dos nietas, Marta y Carmela.<\/div>\n

Ese mismo a\u00f1o aprueba las oposiciones de Ense\u00f1anzas Medias como profesor de Geograf\u00eda, Historia y Arte y es destinado al INB Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez Mart\u00edn de Teruel, ciudad en la que reside durante seis a\u00f1os. Tanto en el Instituto como en el Colegio Menor San Pablo desarrolla una gran actividad docente y cultural junto a otros compa\u00f1eros y alumnos con los que establecer\u00e1 una larga y fruct\u00edfera amistad. En 1968 comienza t\u00edmidamente su actividad como cantautor con la grabaci\u00f3n de Andros II, un EP de cuatro canciones publicado por Edumsa que ser\u00e1 secuestrado por orden gubernativa, y en 1969 participa en el rodaje de Monegros, del director Antonio Artero, a la que seguir\u00e1n con los a\u00f1os numerosos trabajos en cine y en televisi\u00f3n. Tras dar por finalizado el periodo turolense, regresa a Zaragoza en 1970, donde seguir\u00e1 impartiendo docencia en el colegio El Buen Pastor y en el IB Ram\u00f3n Pignatelli. En 1972 funda, junto con compa\u00f1ero y amigo del Instituto de Teruel Eloy Fern\u00e1ndez Clemente, la revista cultural Andal\u00e1n, en la que colaborar\u00e1 muy activamente hasta su desaparici\u00f3n en 1987.<\/div>\n

En 1974 publica su primer LP, Cantar i callar, en la prestigiosa colecci\u00f3n Chant du Monde. Se trata de un acontecimiento cultural de gran trascendencia. Hasta el final de su vida, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Labordeta seguir\u00e1 dando conciertos ininterrumpidamente y grabando canciones emblem\u00e1ticas como \u201cArag\u00f3n\u201d, \u201cCanto a la Libertad\u201d, \u201cSomos\u201d o \u201cLa Albada\u201d. Ese mismo a\u00f1o recibe el Premio San Jorge de la DPZ. En 1976 Jos\u00e9-Carlos Mainer publica en Lumen una primera antolog\u00eda po\u00e9tica de Jos\u00e9 Antonio Labordeta.<\/div>\n

Paralelamente a su intensa labor cultural y docente, participa muy activamente en la creaci\u00f3n del PSA (Partido Socialista de Arag\u00f3n), que al a\u00f1o siguiente se integrar\u00e1 en el PSP (Partido Socialista Popular) de Tierno Galv\u00e1n. En marzo de 1983 se disuelve el PSA. A partir del a\u00f1o 1985, pide la excedencia del Instituto Pignatelli para dedicarse plenamente a la m\u00fasica, la literatura y el periodismo, \u00e1mbitos en los que desarrollar\u00e1 una intensa actividad que dar\u00e1 como resultado la publicaci\u00f3n de numerosos trabajos. Durante la d\u00e9cada de los 90 realiza para TVE Un pa\u00eds en la mochila, proyecto en el que graba excelentes documentales sobre la Espa\u00f1a rural.<\/div>\n

En junio de 1986 nace la Chunta Aragonesista (CHA), formaci\u00f3n aragonesista de izquierdas con la que llegar\u00e1 a ser diputado en las Cortes de Arag\u00f3n (1999) y en el Congreso durante dos legislaturas (2000-2008). Durante todos esos a\u00f1os, Labordeta siempre aportar\u00e1 una nota diferente en el modo de hacer pol\u00edtica. Ac\u00e9rrimo defensor del No a la guerra de Irak y contrario al Trasvase del Ebro, algunos de sus enfrentamientos parlamentarios ser\u00e1n sonados, como aquel en que espet\u00f3 su famosa frase \u00abA la mierda\u00bb a algunos diputados del Partido Popular que le estaban interrumpiendo constantemente en su intervenci\u00f3n.<\/div>\n

Principal de Zaragoza con la presencia de las autoridades ciudadanas y auton\u00f3micas y numerosos artistas y amigos del homenajeado. Paralelamente al homenaje en el Teatro Principal, el Rolde de Estudios Aragoneses y la SGAE publican el libro-homenaje Jos\u00e9 Antonio Labordeta. Creaci\u00f3n, compromiso, memoria, en el que participan casi un centenar de profesores, escritores, artistas y pol\u00edticos. En 2010 la Universidad de Zaragoza le nombra Doctor Honoris Causa. El \u00faltimo acto p\u00fablico lo protagoniza el 6 de septiembre de 2010, cuando Carme Chac\u00f3n, ministro de Defensa, y \u00c1ngel Gabilondo, ministro de Educaci\u00f3n, le entregan en su casa la Gran Cruz de la Orden de Alfonso X el Sabio; un reconocimiento que el Gobierno le concedi\u00f3 por su sabidur\u00eda, su pasi\u00f3n, sus convicciones y su defensa de la libertad. Jos\u00e9 Antonio Labordeta Sub\u00edas fallece en la madrugada del 19 de septiembre de 2010, en el Hospital Miguel Servet de Zaragoza, a la edad de 75 a\u00f1os, a causa de un c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata que le hab\u00eda sido diagnosticado en el a\u00f1o 2006, y que le oblig\u00f3 a permanecer postrado en casa los \u00faltimos meses de su vida. Tras su fallecimiento, las muestras de duelo y afecto dentro y fuera de Arag\u00f3n fueron multitudinarias.<\/div>\n

Jos\u00e9 Antonio Labordeta was born in Zaragoza, he was a Spanish singer-songwriter, writer, politician and teacher. Son of Miguel Labordeta and Sara Sub\u00edas, he is the fourth of five siblings, including the great poet Miguel Labordeta, whose vital and intellectual influence will be very present throughout his life.<\/p>\n

He attends his primary studies at the German School of Zaragoza and at the Santo Tom\u00e1s de Aquino School, owned by the Labordeta family, and at the end of the Baccalaureate he enrolls in Law, a career that he abandons two years later and enrolls in Philosophy and Letters, where he graduated in 1960. For a few months he settled in Aix-en-Provence, where he worked as a lecturer at the university. During his university years, Jos\u00e9 Antonio displayed a great literary activity: he founded the Orejud\u00edn magazine and published in Papageno, magazines created under the umbrella of the Nike gathering and the OPI (International Poetic Office).<\/p>\n

In 1959 he published his first collection of poems, entitled Sucede el Pensamiento. It will be the first in a long list of books of poems, memoirs, novels and travels that he will publish throughout his life. On September 29, 1964, he married Juana de Grandes, with whom he would have three daughters, Ana, \u00c1ngela and Paula, and two granddaughters, Marta and Carmela.<\/p>\n

That same year he passed the examinations for Secondary Education as a professor of Geography, History and Art and was assigned to the INB Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez Mart\u00edn de Teruel, the city where he lived for six years. Both in the Institute and in the Colegio Menor San Pablo, he develops a great teaching and cultural activity together with other colleagues and students with whom he will establish a long and fruitful friendship. In 1968 he timidly began his activity as a singer-songwriter with the recording of Andros II, a four-song EP published by Edumsa that would be seized by government order, and in 1969 he participated in the filming of Monegros, by director Antonio Artero, which they would continue with Over the years numerous works in film and television. After ending the Teruel period, he returned to Zaragoza in 1970, where he continued teaching at the El Buen Pastor school and at the IB Ram\u00f3n Pignatelli. In 1972 he founded, together with a colleague and friend from the Teruel Institute Eloy Fern\u00e1ndez Clemente, the cultural magazine Andal\u00e1n, in which he collaborated very actively until his disappearance in 1987.<\/p>\n

In 1974 he published his first LP, Cantar i callar, in the prestigious Chant du Monde collection. It is a cultural event of great importance. Until the end of his life, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Labordeta will continue to give concerts uninterrupted and record emblematic songs such as \u201cArag\u00f3n\u201d, \u201cCanto a la Libertad\u201d, \u201cSomos\u201d or \u201cLa Albada\u201d. That same year he received the San Jorge Award from the DPZ. In 1976 Jos\u00e9-Carlos Mainer published in Lumen a first poetic anthology of Jos\u00e9 Antonio Labordeta.<\/p>\n

Parallel to his intense cultural and teaching work, he participated very actively in the creation of the PSA (Socialist Party of Aragon), which the following year would be integrated into the PSP (Popular Socialist Party) of Tierno Galv\u00e1n. In March 1983 the PSA is dissolved. Starting in 1985, he requested a leave of absence from the Pignatelli Institute to dedicate himself fully to music, literature and journalism, areas in which he would develop an intense activity that would result in the publication of numerous works. During the 1990s, he made a country in the back pack for TVE, a project in which he recorded excellent documentaries about rural Spain.<\/p>\n

In June 1986, the Chunta Aragonesista (CHA) was born, a left-wing Aragonese formation with which he became a deputy in the Cortes of Arag\u00f3n (1999) and in Congress for two terms (2000-2008). During all those years, Labordeta will always bring a different note in the way of doing politics. A staunch defender of the No to the war in Iraq and against the Ebro Transfer, some of his parliamentary confrontations will be notorious, such as the one in which he blurted out his famous phrase “Fuck it” to some Popular Party deputies who were constantly interrupting him in his intervention.<\/p>\n

Parallel to the tribute at the Teatro Principal, the Rolde de Estudios Aragonese and the SGAE publish the book-tribute Jos\u00e9 Antonio Labordeta. Creation, commitment, memory, in which almost a hundred teachers, writers, artists and politicians participate. In 2010 the University of Zaragoza appointed him Doctor Honoris Causa. The last public act was carried out on September 6, 2010, when Carme Chac\u00f3n, Minister of Defence, and \u00c1ngel Gabilondo, Minister of Education, presented him with the Grand Cross of the Order of Alfonso X the Wise at his home; a recognition that the Government granted him for his wisdom, his passion, his convictions and his defense of freedom. Jos\u00e9 Antonio Labordeta Sub\u00edas died in the early hours of September 19, 2010, at the Miguel Servet Hospital in Zaragoza, at the age of 75, due to prostate cancer that had been diagnosed in 2006, and which forced to remain bedridden at home the last months of his life. After his death, the displays of mourning and affection inside and outside Arag\u00f3n were massive.<\/p>\n
