Es un m\u00fasico estadounidense, conocido por haber sido el bajista de la banda de thrash metal Metallica desde 1986 hasta 2001.<\/div>\n

Newsted naci\u00f3 el 4 de marzo de 1963 y creci\u00f3 en Battle Creek, M\u00edchigan, Estados Unidos. Desde temprana edad sinti\u00f3 un gran inter\u00e9s hacia el heavy metal y quiso aprender a tocar el bajo cuando conoci\u00f3 a Gene Simmons de Kiss, pero su bajista preferido era Geezer Butler de Black Sabbath. Aprendi\u00f3 a tocar el bajo, cantar y empez\u00f3 a tocar en bandas locales. Cit\u00f3 a Steve Harris de Iron Maiden, a su antecesor Cliff Burton de Metallica y a Geddy Lee de Rush como sus otras influencias.<\/div>\n

Newsted was born on March 4, 1963, and grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan, United States. From an early age he had a great interest in heavy metal and wanted to learn bass when he met Gene Simmons from Kiss, but his favorite bassist was Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath. He learned to play bass, sing, and started playing in local bands. He cited Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris, Metallica’s predecessor Cliff Burton, and Rush’s Geddy Lee as his other influences.<\/div>\n

At the age of 18, he left the place where he resided, and moved with a friend of his to California in the hope of finding success, since many popular rock bands had been born there.<\/div>\n
