Brenda Mae Tarpley naci\u00f3 el 11 de diciembre de 1944 en Atlanta y a muy temprana edad ya destacaba en cert\u00e1menes de talentos infantiles: particip\u00f3 en el Master Worker\u2019s Quartet (conjunto gospel de su iglesia), intervino durante casi un a\u00f1o en el programa de radio Starmakers Revue y particip\u00f3 en algunos programas de la televisi\u00f3n local por los que ni ella ni su familia cobraron ni un centavo. En 1956, a los 12 a\u00f1os, debut\u00f3 arrasando en las listas con temas como \u2018Jambalaya\u2019, \u2018Bigelow 6-200\u2032 o \u2018I\u2019m Gonna Lasso Santa Claus\u2019. Los \u00e9xitos se suceden con \u2018Little Jonah\u2019 o \u2018Dynamite\u2019.<\/div>\n

Este \u00faltimo le dio el apodo de \u201cMiss Little Dynamite\u201d. Y, siendo tan s\u00f3lo una ni\u00f1a, consigui\u00f3 convertirse en un \u00eddolo adolescente, gracias a su poderosa voz de cantante veterana.<\/div>\n

Al tiempo que alcanzaba todos los tops de las listas country, empezaron a surgir temas con otras influencias que le abrieron las puertas del triunfo internacional, con m\u00edticas grabaciones como \u2018Sweet Nothin’s\u2019 o \u2018I’m Sorry\u2019. Su corta edad le supuso cientos de problemas para actuar en muchos lugares, sobre todo en Europa, pero la publicidad que generaban muchas veces las mentiras de sus promotores hac\u00eda que las ventas y el \u00e9xito se multiplicar\u00e1.<\/div>\n

As\u00ed, lleg\u00f3 a convertirse en una estrella internacional con las actuaciones ininterrumpidas en Francia, Italia, Alemania, Gran Breta\u00f1a… Con \u2018One Rainy Night in Tokyo\u2019, grabada en Nashville, conquist\u00f3 los corazones nipones en 1965 y comenz\u00f3 su gira por Jap\u00f3n, lo que dio lugar al LP grabado en directo \u2018Live in Tokyo\u2019. M\u00e1s adelante, se edit\u00f3 exclusivamente en Jap\u00f3n un EP de temas navide\u00f1os, y poco despu\u00e9s grab\u00f3 en ese pa\u00eds el \u00e1lbum \u2018Just for You, Something Nice\u2019.<\/div>\n

Brenda Mae Tarpley was born on December 11, 1944 in Atlanta at a very young age and already excelled in children’s talent shows: she participated in the Master Worker’s Quartet (her church’s gospel ensemble), participated for almost a year in the Starmakers Revue radio program and participated in some local television programs for which neither she nor her family charged a penny.<\/div>\n

In 1956, at the age of 12, she made her debut by sweeping the charts with songs like ‘Jambalaya’, ‘Bigelow 6-200’ or ‘I’m Gonna Lasso Santa Claus’. Her successes are followed by ‘Little Jonah’ or ‘Dynamite’. The latter gave her the nickname “Miss Little Dynamite.” And, being just a child, she managed to become a teenage idol, thanks to her powerful veteran singing voice.<\/div>\n

As she reached all the tops of the country charts, songs with other influences began to emerge that opened the doors to international triumph, with legendary recordings like ‘Sweet Nothin’s’ or ‘I’m Sorry’.
