Es una compositora, cantante, m\u00fasica, activista y actriz mexicana nacida en Estados Unidos. Es una de las cantantes latinas m\u00e1s reconocidas a nivel mundial.<\/p>\n

\u00a1Fue integrante de la banda mexicana de ska y reggae Tijuana No!, en la que compuso la canci\u00f3n m\u00e1s exitosa de la agrupaci\u00f3n: \u00abPobre de ti\u00bb, junto a \u00c1lex Z\u00fa\u00f1iga. En 1996 comenz\u00f3 su carrera como solista cuando viaj\u00f3 a la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico apoyada por la banda Caf\u00e9 Tacvba.12\u200b Consigui\u00f3 un contrato con el sello discogr\u00e1fico BMG\/Ariola, lanzando su \u00e1lbum debut Aqu\u00ed (1997) al igual que su siguiente producci\u00f3n Buen invento (2000) discos producidos por Gustavo Santaolalla y obtuvo muy buenas cr\u00edticas en el p\u00fablico del rock de su pa\u00eds natal.<\/p>\n

Su siguiente \u00e1lbum de estudio S\u00ed (2003) la lleva a la fama en Am\u00e9rica Latina y Espa\u00f1a d\u00e1ndole varios premios. Lanza su cuarta producci\u00f3n Lim\u00f3n y Sal (2006), ahora con el sello de Sony & BMG, con el cual alcanz\u00f3 m\u00e1s popularidad en Am\u00e9rica Latina y en varios pa\u00edses de Europa, este d\u00e1ndole varios reconocimientos, premios y discos de Platino.14\u200b Su primer \u00e1lbum en vivo MTV Unplugged (2008), con el cual se consolid\u00f3 a nivel internacional y la populariza en pa\u00edses como Brasil e Reino Unido. Vendi\u00f3 m\u00e1s de 400,000 copias en descarga digital y obtuvo as\u00ed disco de diamante y en f\u00edsico 100 000 copias en M\u00e9xico.<\/p>\n

Con la discogr\u00e1fica Sony Music, lanz\u00f3 su quinto disco de estudio, Otra Cosa (2010) el cual es un disco con menos producci\u00f3n, m\u00e1s personal. Alcanz\u00f3 altos niveles de ventas en M\u00e9xico y en varios pa\u00edses (tanto en Am\u00e9rica como en Europa), lo que la llev\u00f3 a presentarse en m\u00faltiples foros internacionales.<\/p>\n

Public\u00f3 su sexto \u00e1lbum de estudio Los Momentos (2013), con el que dio un cambio de g\u00e9nero y le apuesta a la m\u00fasica indie y minimalista.17\u200b Este \u00e1lbum es el menos comercial de su carrera, pero lleg\u00f3 a las primeras posiciones en tiendas digitales en Am\u00e9rica Latina, Espa\u00f1a y los Estados Unidos. She is a Mexican composer, singer, musician, activist and actress born in the United States. She is one of the most recognized Latin singers worldwide.<\/p>\n

He was a member of the Mexican ska and reggae band Tijuana No!, in which he composed the group’s most successful song: “Pobre de ti”, together with \u00c1lex Z\u00fa\u00f1iga. In 1996 she began her solo career when she traveled to Mexico City supported by the band Caf\u00e9 Tacvba.12 She got a contract with the BMG\/Ariola record label, releasing her debut album Here (1997) as well as her next production Buen Invento (2000) albums produced by Gustavo Santaolalla and received very good reviews from the rock audience of his native country.<\/p>\n

Her next studio album S\u00ed (2003) brought her to fame in Latin America and Spain, giving her several awards. He launched his fourth production Lim\u00f3n y Sal (2006), now with the Sony & BMG label, with which he achieved more popularity in Latin America and in several European countries, this one giving him several recognitions, awards and Platinum records.14 His first live album MTV Unplugged (2008), with which it was consolidated internationally and popularized in countries such as Brazil and the United Kingdom. It sold more than 400,000 copies in digital download and thus obtained a Diamond disc and 100,000 physical copies in Mexico.<\/p>\n

With the Sony Music record company, he released his fifth studio album, Otra Cosa (2010), which is an album with less production, more personal. It reached high levels of sales in Mexico and in several countries (both in America and Europe), which led it to appear in multiple international forums.<\/p>\n

He published his sixth studio album Los Momentos (2013), with which he changed the genre and bets on indie and minimalist music. This album is the least commercial of his career, but it reached the top positions in stores in Latin America, Spain and the United States. He released his seventh studio album Algo Sucede (2015),18 which debuted at number 1 on Billboard Latin Pop Albums list, on this album he returned to acoustic sounds and his characteristic accordion.<\/p>\n
