Browne’s mother, Beatrice Amanda (born Dahl) was originally from Minnesota and of Norwegian descent. Browne has three siblings, Roberta Berbie Browne, born in 1946 in Nuremberg (Germany) and Edward Severin Browne, born in 1949 in Frankfurt (Germany).
