Don Felder tuvo por primera vez atracci\u00f3n a la m\u00fasica despu\u00e9s de ver a Elvis Presley en vivo en The Ed Sullivan Show (El show de Sullivan). Tuvo su primera guitarra a la cercana edad de diez a\u00f1os, la cual \u00e9l anunci\u00f3 hab\u00eda intercambiado con un amigo por un pu\u00f1ado de caramelos de cereza. Don Felder was first attracted to music after seeing Elvis Presley live on The Ed Sullivan Show. He had his first guitar at the near age of ten, which he announced he had traded with a friend for a handful of cherry candies. He was heavily influenced by rock and roll and when he turned fifteen, he put together his own band, The Continentals, which rose to fame with Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills & Nash. Around the same time he met Bernie Leadon, who would later become the founder of The Eagles.<\/div>\n

He and Bernie attended Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Florida. Bernie replaced Stills and they renamed the band The Maundy Quintet. An interesting note: In Gainesville High School’s 1966 yearbook The Maundy Quintet is seen alongside another Gainesville High School student, and his band that was destined for fame; Tom Petty and his future band Epics. Don Felder taught Tom Petty guitar for a year and a half at a music store, and learned the slide technique from Duane Allman.<\/div>\n

The band moved from their country rock style, to the rock style. On his fourth album, One of These Nights, Felder provided lead vocals on the song “Visions,” which he composed with Don Henley. Joe Walsh consequently joined the band the following year (1976), after the departure of Bernie Leadon.<\/div>\n
