Nacido en el corregimiento de Paritilla de Pocr\u00ed de Los Santos, cuenta con m\u00e1s de 40 a\u00f1os de carrera art\u00edstica. Es uno de los pocos artistas del pa\u00eds que ostenta el cargo de embajador cultural de la Rep\u00fablica de Panam\u00e1.<\/div>\n

Es licenciado en econom\u00eda por la Universidad de Panam\u00e1. En el a\u00f1o 1971 se le condecor\u00f3 con la Orden Vasco N\u00fa\u00f1ez de Balboa en el grado de conmemorado. En 1996 obtuvo un Premio Grammy en la categor\u00eda tropical con el \u00e1lbum La rosa de los vientos de Rub\u00e9n Blades. Ha colaborado con artistas como Ulpiano Vergara, Dorindo C\u00e1rdenas, Ceferino Nieto, Rogelio “Gelo” C\u00f3rdoba, entre otros. El 31 de diciembre de 1999 recibi\u00f3 el Canal con la Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica de Panam\u00e1, en una presentaci\u00f3n en el edificio de la Administraci\u00f3n del Canal.<\/div>\n

El 15 de agosto de 2007 recibi\u00f3 la Orden Belisario Porras, en el grado de Comendador y el t\u00edtulo de Embajador de la Cultura Paname\u00f1a por el gobierno paname\u00f1o.<\/div>\n

Born in the town of Paritilla de Pocr\u00ed de Los Santos, he has more than 40 years of artistic career. He is one of the few artists in the country who holds the position of cultural ambassador of the Republic of Panama.<\/div>\n

He has a degree in economics from the University of Panama. In 1971 he was awarded the Order of Vasco N\u00fa\u00f1ez de Balboa in the rank of commemorative. In 1996 he won a Grammy Award in the tropical category with the album La rosa de los vientos by Rub\u00e9n Blades. He has collaborated with artists such as Ulpiano Vergara, Dorindo C\u00e1rdenas, Ceferino Nieto, Rogelio “Gelo” C\u00f3rdoba, among others. On December 31, 1999 he received the Canal with the Panama Symphony Orchestra, in a presentation at the Canal Administration building.<\/div>\n
