Perteneciente a la banda Aerosmith, tambi\u00e9n conocida como \u00ablos chicos malos de Boston\u00bb. Perry se ubic\u00f3 en el 72.\u00ba puesto en la lista de \u00abLos 100 guitarristas m\u00e1s grandes de todos los tiempos\u00bb, elaborada por la revista Rolling Stone.<\/div>\n

Comenz\u00f3 tocando en bares junto a Tom Hamilton. Para pagar los gastos trabajaba en una helader\u00eda, llamada The Anchorage, donde conoci\u00f3 a Steven Tyler unos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s y cuyo primer single fue una versi\u00f3n de la canci\u00f3n “I’m down ” (The Beatles).<\/div>\n

Siendo el guitarrista principal de Aerosmith se separ\u00f3 del grupo por problemas con las drogas y alcohol, a lo que se uni\u00f3 una pelea entre su esposa y la esposa del bajista de la banda, Tom Hamilton. Desde el a\u00f1o 1979 hasta el a\u00f1o 1984, y junto a su compa\u00f1ero Brad Whitford, form\u00f3 un grupo bajo el nombre de “The Joe Perry Project” que tuvo escasa popularidad y \u00e9xito. A mitad de los ochenta se reencontr\u00f3 con sus ex compa\u00f1eros de Aerosmith. Desde el a\u00f1o 2015 integra la banda Hollywood Vampires con Alice Cooper y Johnny Depp, dedicada a rendir tributo a la m\u00fasica de estrellas de rock fallecidas en los a\u00f1os setenta.<\/div>\n

Es considerado por buena parte de la cr\u00edtica como uno de los mejores guitarristas de Rock del mundo. Joe Perry ha coleccionado alrededor de unas 600 guitarras durante toda su carrera de guitarrista, entre ellas se encuentra la famosa guitarra Les Paul Boneyard Prototype, una de las m\u00e1s empleadas en los conciertos de Aerosmith la cual le regalaron por Navidad. Adem\u00e1s tiene una 1954 Special SG Replica, una personalizaci\u00f3n especial de una Joe Perry’s Gibson ES custom blanca (la Billie Guitar), serigrafiada con el rostro de su esposa, Billie Paulette, una rara muy especial totalmente de cristal y una tipo Stratocaster zurda al rev\u00e9s muy desgastada adem\u00e1s de una Gibson Les Paul en tonos negro Standard y tea sunburst.<\/div>\n
