Era hijo de Benjam\u00edn de la Rocha y Graciela L\u00f3pez, nunca estudi\u00f3 m\u00fasica, pero hered\u00f3 su afici\u00f3n musical de su abuelo materno Juan Fajardo, quien fue pariente del padre de los hermanos Carlos y Luis Enrique Mej\u00eda Godoy.<\/div>\n

Contrajo matrimonio en tres ocasiones, su \u00faltima esposa fue la actriz radial Georgina Valdivia, con quien comparti\u00f3 personajes radiales y anuncios televisivos. De sus tres matrimonios tuvo diez hijos.<\/div>\n

Cuando ten\u00eda trece a\u00f1os viaj\u00f3 a la capital Managua, buscando una radio donde pudiera cantar, aunque en esa \u00e9poca era muy dif\u00edcil entrar a la naciente radiodifusi\u00f3n nacional. Seg\u00fan contaba, en 1948 se dio a conocer en la emisora Voz de la Victoria en un programa de aficionados que manejaba el recordado hombre de radio el bachiller Oscar P\u00e9rez Valdivia.<\/div>\n

He was the son of Benjamin de la Rocha and Graciela L\u00f3pez, he never studied music, but he inherited his musical hobby from his maternal grandfather Juan Fajardo, who was a relative of the father of the brothers Carlos and Luis Enrique Mej\u00eda Godoy.<\/div>\n

He married three times, his last wife was the radio actress Georgina Valdivia, with whom he shared radio characters and television commercials. From his three marriages he had ten children.<\/div>\n

When he was thirteen years old he traveled to the capital Managua, looking for a radio where he could sing, although at that time it was very difficult to enter the nascent national radio broadcasting. According to him, in 1948 he became known on the Voz de la Victoria radio station in an amateur program run by the remembered radio man, Oscar P\u00e9rez Valdivia.<\/div>\n
